No mention of Loveland or Solon? Both beat hd at the first meet
I took a stab at ranking the top 10, honestly I don't think there's much separating the teams behind Mason:
1. Mason
2. Tol. St. Francis
3. Medina
4. Mas. Jackson
5. Lancaster
6. Springboro
7. St. Xavier
8. Loveland
9. Solon
10. Hil. Davidson
Also... I'm definitely NOT sold on Tol. St. Francis. That Columbus Grove course must be downhill and/or short. Their 3rd man could only manage a 5:00 1600 last spring? And they were all beaten by a kid from Bryan with a 9:55 PR?
Doesn't smell right. I know the Cope kid is a solid 1600 guy, but I'm just not thinking these 5 guys are the 2nd best team in the state.

Well they did beat Mas. Jackson at the Riverside Kickoff, they may not be #2 but they're definitely in the mix.
The Columbus teams have some of the best individual runners in the state but they just don't have the depth. Wor. Kilbourne is as good as any team in the state 1-3 but it just falls off a cliff after that. I think Lancaster has the deepest lineup in that region along with some guys that could potentially score low, I'd be surprised if they aren't the top team there.

I don't think Jackson had their #3 at Riverside (Cael Ball), but certainly TSF is a really good team.
And yes, if Kilbourne had their 4-5 under 16:45, we'd be talking about them as one of the top 3 or 4. Their 1st two guys are especially solid, possibly both top 10 in November.
Lancaster is deep. That team could maybe qualify two teams to state, but I wonder about front runners. How do they score in a huge meet when Davidson, Coffman, and some others and essentially scoring 4 guys?

The columbus grove course is a known short course, they just refuse to fix it
Two of the biggest meets in Ohio in terms of the number of team entries are this weekend. The Mason Cross Country Invite & the Tiffin Cross Country Carnival. Mason looks like they have all of the entries posted on Milesplit but the Tiffin entry list does not look like it has been updated. There are a few out of state teams at Mason and even a team from Missouri is making the trip.
The info flyer for Mason states that the creek crossings and the steep "mulch hill" are on the course but there is no mention of the hay bales. Are those not included on the course anymore?
Mason Middle schoolers dominate. Boys hs team finally runs their varsity and beats MS US #17 Rock Bridge. Now we have proof that they are #1 in the state.

Not sure it’s really proof they are #1 in the State yet. I’m always a little skeptical to compare out of state teams. Since they only race each other once in a season, you have no idea how they really compare.
I wish Springboro would have ran their ‘A’ guys and we could have really seen how things stack in Ohio better.

I am. TSF looked really solid and deserves the high ranking for sure. St X was also good - though not great - and Kilbourne surprised some other ranked teams (Solon, Perrysburg, Orange, R River, etc) to snag 3rd.
