Drew Barrymore and her then husband were very nice and down to earth. Hugged and I remember thinking she smelled amazing. Never smelt that scent on another woman before or since, so I still wonder what it was because I like to buy perfume for female friends and relatives.
Paul Tergat has surprisingly soft hands. Lovely guy. Was winging it trying to figure out where he knew me from. Didn't tell him. he didn't and I was just a fan.
Annie Leibowitz is cold, unfriendly, passive aggressive and quite *itchy to her staff.
I was in Marcus , a higher end department store in Santa Barbara. I bought this fancy scale with electronic body fat measurement . In the check out line Oprah was behind me and I asked if I could weigh her . She gave me the stink eye . Sheesh .

Flew back from Edmonton World Champs 2001 sitting next to Olympic Gold Medalist Madeline Manning-Mims, super nice person, so humble and kind. Told me stories about all the athletes of the modern era she worked with, not a bad word about anyone or anything.
Did a fairly long interview with her once. She didn't know me before we spoke, but it was a great experience. Very friendly, total class and total legend in USA middle distances.

There was nothing in the article about writing a check for the tuition of a random waitress he met. I'm a nice guy, but if I wanted to pay for her tuition, it would be through periodic payments with my accountant tracking her progress through school. I'm not going to hand her a big check and have her drop out of school a week later. There are also thousands of people in the same situation, including maybe some of her coworkers, so I would be reluctant to single her out for such a gift.
God you are an over-literal doofus. Accountant or municipal bureaucrat by any chance?
Joanie is fantastic- just super down to earth and kind. She’s not the most social person so I could see how you that might not come through. But just as an anecdote, I met her at an event once, and after chatting for a few minutes she just asked - hey, do you want to run with me tomorrow morning? Someone else came up to us and so she asked - hey, we’re going on a run tomorrow morning, any interest in joining?

My ex-gf met Drew Barrymore at an industry party in LA. Her and Drew smoked cigarettes for about a half hour and she said she was cool as hell. They exchanged numbers. I begged her to text her for fun a few months later but she couldn’t bring herself to do it and eventually deleted her number.
I saw Flying Lotus at a grocery store in Los Angeles yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything.
He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?”
I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying.
The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.
When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.
