14 second lead at 4k.
14 second lead at 4k.
Every race is tactical, just a different tactic.
You are right, we don't know much about byu and nc state with missing pieces.
New Mexico and Colorado (in fla) both had confidence boosting races with strong and deep results.
Stanford across the board looked flat. I know they start season late, so maybe they just trained right through this race too. Also no Heymach.
20 second lead at 6k. Kiptoo is grinding
Kiptoo with 20 secs at 6K, Teare and co will need to mount a huge comeback to get him.
I love the way this dude runs.
New Mexico was a bit of a surprise. NCST looked pretty good. BYU not as close to those two. Syracuse might have been one of the bigger surprises. Just in front on Providence. Those two will be in a head to head battle at the northeast regional now. The west coast teams did not look great. The rankings are gonna see a big shake-up.
How tf are some of these guys still competing in the ncaa? There are names in this race that graduated high school with me/before me, I was class of 2016. Can someone explain?

Redshirts & free year because of COVID. That's two extra years.
Redshirt, medical, Covid, BYU bonus BS.
That's how Connor has been running for a decade plus.
Also I noticed that for NC State Shaw dropped out at the 2K mark.
Teare looks like he was just racing for 2nd. I think he’s saving up his best for NCAA’s.
Anyone know what why Yacine Guermali didnt run today for Gonzaga. They very likely finish fourth, with a shot at third, if he runs and they finishes in the teens/twenties as opposed to the 127 they scored for their fifth man. Hope it isnt anything serious. Wil Smith continues to impress.

Expect him around 10th at NCAA.

He’s got top 4 in the bag at minimum. I watched the race and to me he wasn’t interested in digging deep to finish first in a meet that doesn’t mean anything.
Ha, he can't stay with Kiptoo or Mantz, I expect him 6-12.

why would you expect the 4th place finisher from 2 years ago and reigning 5k champ to be 6-12?
If Steelman and Orton both run today, NC State wins easily and BYU vs NM very tight for 2nd. Camp from BYU still working on returning to form. They need that. 20 second swing on Tuohy vs Frentheway from March.
He literally got 6th two years ago… Another 2k and Kiptoo would’ve been off the back. Only one that’s going to give him a tough time is Mantz.
Coverage was good, but no interviews, come on, interview the pack, the coaches, pre and post race interviews,
Clairmonte is the real X factor. She was their best runner before illness leading up to the March nationals. And still holding out hope that Starliper makes an appearance.
Glad to see Chimel doing well. I was the one arguing that she belonged on the all decade XC high school team. She is just a natural XC runner. Always showed up at the big races.

He is a 1500, 3k guy, not a 10k guy, the comp is stronger than 2 yeas ago and he finished 6th, not 4th.
