Oakdale’s team time at Clovis 2022 - aka Woodward Park was -47th all-time. They also beat San Clemente.
Granada 2022 - 66th all-time at Woodward Park - the state meet. 16th at NXN.
San Clemente 2022 - 43rd all-time at Woodward Park - the state meet. 7th at NXN
It’s absolutely not wrong. You can’t correlate times from last year to this year. Conditions and racers are different. Super shoes create a huge difference too. I’ll bet ya that oakdale gets 12-16th place AT best.
And the teams in front of them:
American Fork
Herriman
CBA
Belen
Southlake
Dana Hills
Great Oak
CDA
etc are a step above Oakdale. Try not to be subjective and show your favoritism. Be objective with the fact that the teams ahead of Oakdale are showing massive results in comparison to.
Well it doesn’t matter anymore because 1 of oakdale’s top 5 is injured. They won’t be making nxn. Original poster seemed pretty objective to me.
Teams improve and 40th all-time is good. Oakdale deserves its props for being competitive mid-season. no need to take that away from them.
Okay actually had you been at the race you'd know at 2 miles both teams were tied at 47 points it was said over the loudspeaker more than once. Look at the 2 mile splits with the kid who collapsed in there.
Jesuit: 1,4,13,14,15
Franklin: 5,6,9,11,16
(team scoring 2 guys Roseburg/forest grover I think weren't on teams)
Not sure what happened but I can tell you if I saw a teammate go down and I was passing him having a medical emergency I'd probably slow down maybe not to stop/help but to see if he was OK.
You're right, the splits don't show Jesuit's 2 as factoring into points. However, I don't buy that they slowed down enough that it hurt the team points considering they were running the same pace as they were previously.

Congrats to Oakdale on their mid season accomplishments! Round of applause!!!
Here is my watchlist for each region, each one separated into an A tier and a B tier list (not in any particular order) with A tier meaning could challenge for NXN top 15, and B tier meaning could get to NXN on a good day:
Northwest:
A tier - Crater, Coeur D'Alene, Rocky Mountain, Franklin, Jesuit
B tier - Kamiakin, Boise, Seattle Prep, Eastlake
California:
A tier - Great Oak, Ventura, San Clemente, Trabuco Hills
B tier - Newbury Park, Granada, Crescenta Valley
Southwest:
A tier - American Fork, Herriman, Niwot, Lone Peak
B tier - Mountain View, Corner Canyon, Valor Christian, Riverton
Midwest:
A tier - Noblesville, Downers Grove, Carmel
B - tier - Mason, Plainfield
Southeast:
A tier - Belen Jesuit, University, McCallie, Calvert Hall College
B tier - The Bolles School, Brentwood, Farragut
Northeast:
A tier - Christian Brothers Academy
B tier - Episcopal Academy, North Allegheny
New York:
At least on the guys side, this whole region is looking very weak for next year.
Southlake:
A tier - Southlake Carroll, Jesuit LA, The Woodlands,
B tier - Grapevine, Austin Vandergrift, Coppell
Looking back at these predictions, not many misses. NW and SW is just about dead on, with the others all being fairly close to what we've seen so far, aside from missing some NE teams.
Trabuco Hills, Seattle Prep, and Noblesville seem to be the biggest let downs so far this year.
CBA beat the course record that was set by CBA 2010. CBA 2010 was one of the best teams ever. 15:52 - CBA 2010. 15:51 - CBA 2023. They should be ranked top 2 in the country. American Fork / Christian Brothers.
my top 7 fastest best boy teams ever - Newbury Park 2021, Newbury Park 2022, Loundon Valley 2018, Newbury Park 2019, Loundon Valley 2017, Christian Brothers 2011, Arcadia 2010, York 2004.

Why do people act like Herriman is awful just because they lost to American Fork by 6 points?
Westfield lost to CBA by 8 points and everyone suddenly hailed them as a top 5 team
Can we acknowledge something historic happened at this meet? Evan's time of 13:39.0 (actually from the video it shows 13.38.6) is faster than Nico Young rec...
I also never saw anyone talking about this in the NXR Southwest thread for some reason but Herriman's usual #1 guy was their 7th at the state meet. He went from 2nd at the 2-mile to like 24th by the end of the race. His name is William Steadman and he's ran a 187 speed rating this season. He's performed fine as Herriman's number 1 at every other occasion, state was his only bad race.
Herriman is still the #1 in the country in my opinion. If Steadman had ran well and Danny Simmons had been the one getting last on his team, American Fork would have lost by much more than 6 points. Going by season bests, Herriman has 187, 182, 182, 182, 181, 180, and 177.

Nobody thinks Westfield is a top 5 team. Westfield would lose very badly to all the following teams: Niwot, Herriman, American Fork, Southlake Carroll, Belen Jesuit, Dana Hills, Christian Brothers.
I think the top 3 teams this year are CBA, Herriman, and American Fork. CBA is performing better now. Herriman and American Fork can still go 1-2.
I think Herriman and American Fork have to be the top 2 teams going into NXN. I watched the Herriman boys and Steadman at Woodbridge and they were tough. Very impressive team.
The difference maker at NXN is the low stick from American Fork. That’s going to give them a nice cushion on almost all the major contenders. When you pull out the individual qualifiers (for team scoring) it nullifies some of that advantage, but it is still a huge benefit.
If Herriman or Southlake can get a low(ish) stick or 2 fairly low sticks, they can pack it in from 3-5 and try to win that way, but AF has a big advantage with a potential 1st place overall.
If I had to put money on a team I would put it on AF followed by Herriman followed by Southlake.
Exact placement doesn't really matter at this point, but I think that the general consensus is that the top 5 at NXN will most likely be some combination of AF, Herriman, Southlake, CBA, and Belen Jesuit, with Niwot, Dana Hills, Lone Peak, CDA, Great Oak, and a few others looking to pull off an "upset" (although it really is impossible to tell exactly how fit these teams are)

Belen and Southlake Carroll should be in the 2nd group. Remove Lone Peak, CDA, and Great Oak from group 2.
Tier 1 are all in the top 10 best teams of all time. Tier 2 can realistically upset if they improve. Nobody else stands a chance at winning.
Tier 1 - Herriman, Christian Brothers, American Fork
Tier 2 - Southlake Carroll, Dana Hills, Belen Jesuit, Niwot
