Took a couple off this week, but cranked out a tough 40' on Wednesday (felt very sluggish) and then close to an hour today (felt much better). Hopefully I'm over whatever it was.
This thread is not dead! It rocks! Now that the trolls have gone into hibernation it may be quieter, but more pertinent. Keep up the good work, all!
2 miles wu/ 8X800 (400)/2 miles cd
totally spent!
Glad to hear this thread's not dead!!!
Thank God It's Friday. AM run of 7.4 miles, 65 minutes out total. Tried 4 strider's at the end.:32,:30,:30:28, @a distance of 174 yds.4% downhill on our still sodden wet lawn. Since I was doing the same path last fall in :24 I can only wonder, where all the flowers have gone?.
Can I be getting old all of a sudden, instead of incrementally? Perturbed, humbled;,strider's at 5/min mile pace.WTF.

Today I did 23 miles in a little over 2 hours. Then I did some strides followed by some hills.
Once my warmup was done, I stretched then completed 100X200m in 25. The cooldown was 10 miles in 49:03.

That's a great workout. What are your PRs?
Oops, nevermind. I just saw your handle. Are you really Seb Coe?

Yes. Another tough one was 3X(12X300m) in 38.4 with 30 seconds of recovery between the repeats and 5 minute mile distance runs in between the sets. This was followed by a nice slow 10 mile cooldown jog in 51:20. My father Peter beats me when my workouts go badly.
Oops, I may have spoken too soon. :-) Well at least it's entertaining.
No run today. Still feeling a little run down (pun intended). Hopefully tomorrow will be better.
DYRT2 > Gilmore's groin! (at least for the moment) Thanks all (trolls, too), for making this thread rock!

Anyway, today is a 15-16 mile day, just got done with the morning 7.5 45 minute run w/ weights after. Stride felt weird though, gotta stretch out my hip flexors.
Used to be when I was in middle school track & field I would get a whuppass hiding from my grandfather if I didn't make 5'4" in the high jump & lost the 100 yd. dash.Sebastion Coe wrote:

No run yesterday.
Dear SebastIon, RunningFart and all-trolls and non-trolls Running Dogg included:
Dying My Ass!
-- So: that PM workout that was TBA, ended up being a 1 hour Camucia to Cortona (UPHILL) with a little trail in the woods outside the old Cortona city walls. And then (DOWNHILL) back to Cortona (Capitalized because if you have been around here you know what running Running from Camucia to Cortona entails.)
-- So then. that same night i had to go back to rome because I have kids athletics Saturday morning. So i take a 2230 train and when i get to Rome's Termini station i realize i have forgotten my house keys. Alzheimer's or what? It is 10m minutes to 1AM and i take the bus to my mother's home. Eventually get to bed by three AM.
-- Saturday: wake up at 800AM and jump-start with a 2Km backpacked sprint to hitch a ride with fellow kids-coach Alberto to make it to the track (10km away from my house.) Then it's one hour with the little terrors.
And then these three buddies, PierPaolo, Michele, Stefano who have decided the way to counter the aging curve is to do only speedwork, the three of them, say: "come on tpcb, come and do some 200s..."
Could not resist: 6x200m it is, in 32s, 2:00mins recovery. PierPaolo and Stefano do another 2. Then it is lunch and train back to Cortona.
Today: Sinalunga, 12 Km neighborhood race in Vibrams, mixed trails and asphalt, ReAlLy RoLlInG hills, in about 50mins. No injury. But i feel pretty wiped. But no injury. But wiped.
A very personal decision: but it is doubles season.
Sorry for this slightly endorphinely-long entry.
