Saratoga girls look strong. Saratoga boys look ok. I think they are giving it one last good run after all the pressure on the Saratoga program to be shut down
How about massive rain 6 inches of mud compared ro clear and sunny last year. Jesuit #2 seemed to have e a seisure with 800m to go and his teammates all slowed to help. Or that's how it looked from like 600m away not sure what actually happened? Crater boys were good but didn't look amazing. Franklin looked dominant.
If weather was this bad it seems like Oregon still got it.
I agree it was muddy today but last year for the boys 6A it was steadily raining all day and to make matters worse, it was a literal downpour as the starting gun went off. It was also freezing, wet and miserable. Today the rain ceased and the temperature was mild compared to last year. The times were slower across the board in all divisions.

A great indicator that the above post is probably full of it (or at the very least, hyperbolic) is that Caden Swanson got dropped by 20 seconds in the last mile, and Strub and the next Jesuit guy ran essentially the same pace from mile 1 to 2 as they did from mile 2 to the end. They didn't stop to help their teammate. They just got beat.
Franklin was beating them badly at 2 miles and their guys were fading back the entire time.
Fastest Oregon runners are Jack Meier and Tayvon Kitchen 15:23-15:26. That is a lot slower than what the top Oregon runners were running last year. Tyrone Gorze ran 14:38. Looks to be a down year for both teams and individuals
Well on the plus side Missouri seems to be having a breakout after Connor burns graduated. 4 runners broke 15 minutes on their 5k state championship course. 3 of these runners I never heard of before.
Missouri always sucked but they seem to be changing that now. New York has a fast boy runner too. He broke a course record today. 194 speed rating. Oregon was crazy good the past 3 years. Not all states that small can maintain that level of good every year. Oregon was the same tier as Utah and Colorado.
Okay actually had you been at the race you'd know at 2 miles both teams were tied at 47 points it was said over the loudspeaker more than once. Look at the 2 mile splits with the kid who collapsed in there.
Jesuit: 1,4,13,14,15
Franklin: 5,6,9,11,16
(team scoring 2 guys Roseburg/forest grover I think weren't on teams)
Not sure what happened but I can tell you if I saw a teammate go down and I was passing him having a medical emergency I'd probably slow down maybe not to stop/help but to see if he was OK.
Unless you have first hand knowledge and permission from the runner and family, please refrain from speculating about a 16 year old boy and his medical health on a public forum. Good grief!
A 5 man only squad, was missing 1 of their top 5 runners at the sectionals meet. With all 5 runners ON, they are a top 15 team at worst and top 10 at best.

More like at their best they are top 12-15. At their worst 22-25.

This is wrong.
Oakdale’s team time at Clovis 2022 - aka Woodward Park was -47th all-time. They also beat San Clemente.
Granada 2022 - 66th all-time at Woodward Park - the state meet. 16th at NXN.
San Clemente 2022 - 43rd all-time at Woodward Park - the state meet. 7th at NXN
Southlake Carroll is going for the win at nxn. This NXN year is going to be stacked and insane. You have Niwot, Dana Hills, American Fork, Herriman, Southlake Carroll, Belen Jesuit all going for the win.

It’s absolutely not wrong. You can’t correlate times from last year to this year. Conditions and racers are different. Super shoes create a huge difference too. I’ll bet ya that oakdale gets 12-16th place AT best.
And the teams in front of them:
American Fork
Herriman
CBA
Belen
Southlake
Dana Hills
Great Oak
CDA
etc are a step above Oakdale. Try not to be subjective and show your favoritism. Be objective with the fact that the teams ahead of Oakdale are showing massive results in comparison to.
