Bentonville boys are good. Think it will be a close race for second at NXN South.
It's not quite close. Bentonville is a solid school, but their times at the state meet in 2023 are only slightly better than their times in 2022. In the 2022 state meet, conditions were worse than in the 2023 state meet. In 2022, Bentonville was ranked #8 at RunningLane. This year, they may have a chance to break into the top 5 at RunningLane."
Austin Vandegrift technically finished 5th overall at Woodbridge, but they would have beaten San Clemente, a team that placed 7th at NXN last year. Austin Vandegrift finished only 21 points behind Southlake Carroll at their state meet, demonstrating that they are still in good shape.
Bentonville may have good speed ratings but Austin Vandegrift has the resume.
Solid. We will see what they can do at midwest regionals
And their 6 and 7 were at 14:59 and 15:03. And their 6 is normally one of their top runners, he just missed a good portion of the season with injury and only came back last week for sectionals.
Data from previous years --- I don't know how different course conditions were from course to course. Many of these past courses were probably wet and muddy.
Crater last year averaged 15:34, and Jesuit last year averaged 15:28.
This year:
Crater - 15:57
Franklin - 16:04
Jesuit - 16:22
Couer D'Alene is the best team in the NW right now, and it's not that unlikely to see 3 Idaho teams in the top 3 at NXR.
Is it the same course? were conditions the same? Idaho could go 1-2-3 at NXR Northwest if oregon drops the ball again at nxr.
Rocky’s 2 has struggled on this course the last two years. Even if that trend continues, I wouldn’t be shocked to see Rocky finish 3rd behind CDA and Boise. It’s not like Franklin looked amazing today.
I mean seriously what happened to crater and jesuit this year? They were both crazy good last year
Crater and Jesuit get lots of youth runners so sometimes they don’t see any improvement. While California teams tend to see freshman and sophomore making big jumps because they are brand new to racing
How about massive rain 6 inches of mud compared ro clear and sunny last year. Jesuit #2 seemed to have e a seisure with 800m to go and his teammates all slowed to help. Or that's how it looked from like 600m away not sure what actually happened? Crater boys were good but didn't look amazing. Franklin looked dominant.
