Simple questions.
Did the wind turbines that were iced up generate ANY electricity?
Did any of the solar panels covered in snow generate ANY electricity?
Do you think Texas had the same type of wind turbines as you see in the NE?

Actually, wind energy production fell to 2%, so not all of them iced up but the majority did.

How can anyone applying for the AG position be so bad at an in person interview?
He has never thought about illegal immigration? Really?!?!?

Something tells me that Merrick Garland will be light years better than the two AGs hired by Trump. It's a pretty low bar.
https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/trump-claims-jeff-sessions-not-mentally-qualified-be-ag-feud-n1214006To this day, Jeff Sessions regrets that he ever shook hands with Trump. Ruined his life and legacy. And Alabama has a mediocre Football coach as a US Senator !?!
Let me help you to understand and you will be shocked to see how they lied to you. You seem to be a good guy who wants to know the truth.
Tucker Carlson and governor Abbot didn't want you to know the truth. All the energy sources and pipes shut down to a great extent. Windmills were reduced significantly less than other forms. Texas is the energy capital of the country so power outages reflect gross incompetence. Just about all the weather related power outages could have been prevented but Texas ignored federal guidelines. The powerful energy companies didn't want to winterize the equipment.
But they don't want you to know that because it makes them look really bad. They know people like Calamity will swallow their line of BS.
If you live in Texas, you should be pissed off! Understand now?

Dude - on February right before the ice wind turbines were like 40% of the energy contribution. After the snow and ice hit - that fell to like 12%. Both of these "stats" are false--not even close--and you have no legit source for either. And you either knew that, or should have known that (and had a reckless disregard for the truth), which makes you not just an obnoxious troll but a FVCKING LIAR.
Actually, wind energy production fell to 2%, so not all of them iced up but the majority did.Replying to your own posts AGAIN? What a pathetic, starved-for-attention human being you are.
Oh, and that "2%" is *another* falsehood.
"Wind was operating almost as well as expected," said Sam Newell, head of the electricity group at the Brattle Group, an energy consulting company that has advised Texas on its power grid.
"It's an *order of magnitude* smaller" than problems with natural gas, coal and nuclear energy, he said.
. . .
The Electric Reliability Council of Texas, which plays the role of traffic cop for Texas' energy providers, directing energy from producers to distributors, predicted that this winter would see wind produce about 7,070 megawatts at peak load times. By the council's own daily figures, wind power in Texas has produced between 4,415 and 8,087 megawatts at peak times since the storm began.
By contrast, the state's "thermal fleet" — mostly natural gas, but also including coal and nuclear power — has been down significantly more, leading to a shortfall of 30,000 megawatts . . . .

Simple answers:
The wind turbines in Texas did not include cold weather kits like the ones further north have. So some of them froze, but they were quickly and easily de-iced.
Solar panels shed snow very quickly on their own, but snow can be easily blown off manually as well.
Solar and wind were back on line several days before the frozen gas lines and fossil fuel plants.
If Texas was part of the national grid and subject to national grid standards this disaster would have never happened.
Nope. Could you just answer my questions?
Maybe the State of Texas didn't operate and maintain the wind turbines correctly, because there is a huge windfarm in the Baltic near Copenhagen and they use wind turbines for power in Antarctica.
In which county were they getting those numbers? What was the energy output with the turbines that wee frozen?
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Help me dry my tears is crying again ??

What was the cost and time frame of this "quickly and easily de-iced" process? What was used to handle this process?
Show me proof that 8" of heavy wet snow was quickly and easily blown off manually from the solar panels.
Show me proof that Solar and wind were back on line several days before fossil fuels.
I would love to believe you but have not seen any proof.

I'm guessing those are a much different wind turbines.
Simple question - If wind turbines are so great why wouldn't more people/countries want more of them everywhere?
Ivyguy-
Please share some reliable data about what really happened with all energy sources in the most recent Texas storm. Sorry we are not all as informed as you. Some of us are just trying to understand what happened and childish name calling by you doesn't accomplish much.
Is Sally really trying to blame the texas catastrophe on green energy?
Remember, this is is the troller who claims she doesn't watch or read right wing media yet spouts each and every trumpist lie as soon as team spanks comes up with it.
Good lord Sallster, try to have some self respect.
Take an oath to stop the idiocy. You'll feel better in the morning
the entire ERCOT board resigned.
Which is fine, but the idea that the Texas GOP will avoid being blamed for this is absurd.
Everyone knew what kind of dumb system texas had.
But yeah freedumb, you morans. You have your own grid because #texas. Your bad.

sorry, only the independent board members quit, not the entire board.

I don't read Fox News. I read news from every other news source. You don't get the truth from reading you crappy news sources, agip. You read lies. You are a joke, dude.
