Here's a prediction you can take to the bank: Within the next year or so, Trump supporters will collectively insist that there is NOTHING wrong with Trump laundering money for corrupt Russian oligarchs, that he's just been taking advantage of good business opportunities, and that Hunter Biden's appointment to the board of a Ukranian energy company seven years ago is WAY worse because liberals.
It's ironic that Vance's new man is the guy that took down the "Teflon Don". (Gotti) Trump is sweating and Not from exercise !!

You Libs have been non-stop hounding him for four-plus years now . Why would you quit now? I remember how you guys were so optimistic when the Mueller investigation and it was a huge dud. Impeachment I -trump acquitted. Impeachment II - Trump acquitted yet again. So I would advise not to get your hopes up again.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS tears from the domestic mass berater Sally.
Wrong, I was never optimistic about the Mueller investigation or either impeachment , they ended exactly as I expected they would. I challenge you to prove I was ever optimistic about any of them, let’s be having you Sally. Don’t keep us waiting.
I’m not sure how this one will end but it is another loss for Trump, this time from the Supreme Court.

I will always recognize the very slim possibility that Trump actually didn't engage in criminal conduct, until he pleads guilty or is convicted. But the impeachment acquittals are irrelevant with regard to the criminal investigation being conducted in Manhattan. And of course Mueller specifically said he wasn't looking to bring criminal charges.
I don't think Trump shares your blase attitude about what's heading his way in NY. If nothing else, the fact that he has fought so hard and for so long to keep his financial records out of the hands of prosecutors suggests that there's something in them that's damaging to him.

He will need a stupendous legal team to get him out of this, if it's even possible. But none of the really good lawyers will be willing to take his case.
The only question left is whether he will flee the country or get thrown in prison.

So, it doesn't matter to you if he did it or not, just that he was "acquitted." You think America is better off with Trump getting a pass for the nonsense that took place on January 6? Keep in mind 57% of the senate voted to convict him....... he was acquitted, but a good majority of the senate and the american pulbic believes he should be held responsible.

https://www.cnn.com/2021/02/22/politics/supreme-court-trump-taxes-vance/index.htmlCy Vance just added a lawyer who specializes in complex financial crimes. This ruling, although not unexpected, is very ominous for Trump.
Just to be clear, Trump's financial records, including his tax returns, will not be made public. At least not yet. If criminal charges are brought and the case goes to trial, those records may be made public during the trial.
If entered into a trial record, wouldn't they be subject to the FOIA?

I've thought that Trump's biggest concern was not legal whether criminal or civil penalties but, rather, it being found out that he isn't worth anywhere near what he says he is. So any financial info put out there I assume will allow for at least the interpretation by the public that he's not the dealmaker/rich guy he advertises himself as....even if he is pretty wealthy....and thus is simply full of schitzel.
None of this is likely to be found out "in time". By "in time" I mean before Trump's health further deteriorates. I don't think there's a lot in his family history which indicates a life of any quality is going to happen to him over the next 3-5 years. If he can stall for that long, he won't either be around or be able to understand what's going on anyway.

They would be public if entered into evidence at trial, which they most likely would be if there ever is a trial. It's not pursuant to the FOIA, it's just that trials are public and any evidence used at trial is in the public domain.

For the millionth time, he is not "my boy." I even tell my wife what a horrible person. But I am so fed up with the mainstream media and the Dems in Congress and how they have defamed him that I would get the most pleasure seeing him run again in 2024. Dems/Libs across the country would totally lose it even more. Can you imagine an 8-1 conservative majority in the Supreme Court?

Are those violins I hear playing?
Anyway, you're not the only one who wants him to run in 2024. A lot of Democrats would be thrilled if he did. Trump's a loser candidate, never got more votes than his opponent and managed to lose as the incumbent (that's not easy to do). And at 78 years old, he'd be a much worse candidate than he was this time around.

What a really good forensic accounting team (assuming that attorney specializing in financial crimes will have as a resource) should do is create a database of expenses and deductions. Besides looking for numbers that match, they should look at combinations of numbers that match (one expense number reused and split into smaller pieces for illegal deduction reuse), and also names of expense items that are the same of almost the same (obfuscated).
The above is part of Trump's game. Take one expense that consists of multiple parts, split them into pieces and and then claim the deduction several times. That is one reason Trump has so many business entities. They offer a lot of places to hide repeated use of the same single deduction. That is how Trump ends up with, 14,000 page tax returns.

and just to complete the thought, that is why so many very rich people don't get caught cheating on taxes and laws. Because for a prosecutor's office to dig into all those complicated books would take years and cost millions of dollars, and maybe not result in a conviction. So prosecutors pass and move on to the BS MJ case they can 100% prove in a day. It's really a tragedy for American justice.
Makes me think sometimes we should do some kind of massively simpler tax code so cheating would be much harder. Fewer deductions, etc.
Do you miss posting under your Rigged for Hillary handle?

The problem for a Trump legal team is that tax penalties are cut-and-dried for the most part. If you make an error you are asked by the IRS to pay the back taxes plus interest. Penalties are not usual. And prison sentences are rare.
Trump won't be able to pay the back taxes. His attorneys will have to fight each and every IRS back tax claim. That is not a good look ... fighting the IRS to allow multiple repeats of a single deduction, and other inappropriate deduction claims.
