Trump is still very involved with Republican party. He will be a speaker at CPAC. This is great news for the Democratic party. Continued devotion to Trump will continue to destroy the Republicans.
However, this is not good for the country.

They want to die slowly. The idea that they will win the House back while still worshipping the GOAT loser trump is beyond dumb, but it must be what they are telling themselves.
Maybe they are right about the state of the base though... if the Rs don’t stay behind Trump they will likely get clobbered in 2022, but if they continue to pretend he’s king then maybe they get to keep most of their seats. In this genius strategy they get to lose less in the short run and give up the chance to reboot earlier by several years. It is sounds great for Dems.
I have to say I am surprised some Rs have not banded together yet to try to publicly purge him from the GOP. But I shouldn’t be surprised, they are all terrified of losing their jobs and only a few ever had a backbone to begin with. I want to see the GOP shred itself up in public. It’s going to come, but it’s nice that’s it’s a very slow death. I think after total destruction in 2022, they’ll finally decide something needs to be done.
