I know the House can elect any Speaker.
You’re not going to get a Trumper majority.
But I do wonder who a mixed Republicanish House majority would pick.
Would Mcarthy get enough Romney types?
Liz Cheney wouldn’t get Trumpers.
They won’t be unified.

The best they can do right now is just pretend there is no split. And before anyone says the GOP is really lopsided with way more trumpers, keep in mind that those 7 senators that voted to convict represent a much bigger chunk of the population. Sure, they could lose their seats if the Trumpers really retaliate but come on, they would get killed in the next elections sending full blown trump loyalists to try to replace these moderates.
They doomed themselves when they let Trump in. The trial was the only chance to divorce themselves from him, and yes even though that would have meant certain defeat for the years to come, they clearly could have done a strong public pivot to try to save themselves in the long run. The path of least resistance was to acquit, but it’s only delaying the inevitable. In what scenario do they not have to pay the piper? They are fkd.
And this was the physically fit trump, LOLz

Bad mutha bleeping karma.
But in all seriousness, what does one expect our leaders to do to lessen the weather blow states like Texas are dealing with right now? If you "believe" in climate change (and I'll say for the record anybody that doesn't IMO is a moron) then this is kinda thing we will see more of if bigger issues aren't addressed.

Fix the grid and convert to solar, wind, and batteries. The grid would become more reliable with energy costs approaching zero.

Your Energy cost will may drop to zero, but your utility bill will always exist. That is because the majority of home and business renewable energy systems are tied to the grid, and the grid needs to be maintained
You may have experienced the above "phenomenon" with your cable provider. You may have stopped paying for premium channels but your bill did not go down. (This happened to us.)
all credit to Cruz for admitting he got this wrong
I wish more politicians would admit failures

Believe me, if "person, woman, man, camera, TV" is the standard that we hold our Presidents, even in his declining years (yes, Biden ain't as sharp as he was even 5 years ago) I think Biden is more than equipped to run this country.

it's 100% clear that Kamala is being given a tryout for the 2024 nomination. Biden knows he might not make it too much longer - he wants to give her a running start for 2024 if she is needed.
Expect her to do a lot of potus-type activities to see how she does and to give her more experience.

I am very impressed that you remembered those words and in the correct order.
Are you considering running in 2024?

"The National Pulse"? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Click-bait Kool-Aid for the gullible!
"Overall, we rate The National Pulse Questionable based on extreme . . . bias, promotion of propaganda and conspiracy theories as well as affiliation with a known questionable group, and a few failed fact checks."

and as for Biden's sharpness, he already talked to all the major leaders. This is go-round #2
"Biden had previously spoken with both Trudeau and Macron in January."

Not sure that that is actually his account. He generally goes with @SenTedCruz.

Interesting that your analogue is the cable provider. I got rid of cable TV several years ago and went with streaming, plus a digital antenna. Presto. No more cable TV bill.
The same thing is going to happen with the power grid. Many people will opt out. Solar plus batteries can meet all your needs and you can just disconnect from the grid. This will make prices skyrocket for everyone who still uses the old grid.

Who provides your internet? You still pay for that regardless of whether a cable company is involved. You only use internet whether it is hardwired or wireless.
In our case, wireless internet is not an option because my wife is an online trainer and content developer and she needs gigabit internet to work from home.

If you opt out of the power grid you do not qualify any solar incentives. Only grid-tied solar qualifies because the incentives are funded by the grid-providers. I know this because an off-the-grid project I worked on for the a nature center had to stomach they would not get the solar rebate they budgeted for because they were going off the grid. Some donors offered to pony up the cost of the lost incentive.
