Sally, you are pretty slow and Trump's reaction to the Capitol being entered was damning and leaves no doubt that he wanted his supporters to act aggressively.
Aztec - you need to forget EVERYTHING that the House Managers presented as much of it were lies, manipulations and distortions.
One example :. A video showing Trump urge his supporters to march down to the Capitol!!! And their video ended there instead of showing (video continued) Trump urging his supporters to cheer on their Congresspeople. Just one example but many others much worse
Sally, check this out:

Like I said a while ago, there is much more to it than we will know. Dems know it only comes down to whether Rs would be ready to pull the plug on trump, but they knew the answer before they impeached. Under no circumstances would the GOP convict. So for Dems it’s about showing the nation the Rs undying loyalty to trump and the big lie machine, over country of course. Details will keep leaking over the coming months and it will just keep damaging the GOP’s election chances.
It boils down to this. The GOP will never attach their name to any effort to get rid of trump. Sure, he would have sacrificed every single one of them to stay in power, and they know that. But they are scared to death of the lie machine they’ve worked so hard to create will come crashing down on them. They are in a bind though because the Dems are not allowing them to divorce themselves from trump quietly. It will be forever in the public record that they overwhelmingly backed him over country once again. Trump is going to be one giant and growing $hit stain that will continue to consume the GOP. Graham, Cruz and Hawley can keep their seats, but what’s important is that the GOP gets mangled.
Politicians always gonna protect themselves. Dems protected Clinton when he lied.
Granted this is a bit different.

Anybody notice that Biff seems to be gone? A little belated, but he seems finally to have honored the Runningart Challenge.

He finally figured out that Trump lost, plus he was taking way too many a$$poundings here. He probably retreated to his safe space 4chan. His loss was delicious.

If by "gone" you mean "posting under a different user name", then he's been "gone" for awhile.

A bit different? Lying about a BJ and an attack on the Capitol are not in the same universe. The Republicans' goal was only to humiliate Clinton.

Yes extremely different. In one case the president was asked if he cheated on his wife and in the other he was asked if he incited an attack on the capital so that he could remain in power.
This more than "a bit different"
Trump defense lawyer made a bald face lie about Trump not knowing Pence was in danger when he further tweeted attacks on Pence's character.
Now as a result, they are calling witnesses. Trump is skrewed. The lawyer stepped over the line and now has to deal with the consequences.

They looked like idiots when they turned over every stone and found nada on Clinton, so they couldn’t help themselves when they heard about Monica. They thought they would be rewarded for going after him and instead Bill’s approval rating skyrocketed and they got creamed in the next election.

The poster is not gone. The handle is gone. The poster remains.

Depending on who they call as witnesses, it could get interesting. It's not changing any votes but could force fellow GOPers to testify and they'd have to do so truthfully. Tuberville and Lee would be an interesting combo considering Lee's umbrage from earlier in the week.
I still don't believe it'll happen though. The Dems seem to be hesitant to really go all in with the impeachment trial.

Yeah, and the incineration of Hiroshima was a bit different than a toy firecracker going 'bang'.

"The theory in Hiroshima is that the atomic heat was so great that they burned instantly to ashes -- except that there were no ashes."

They want to get it over with so the Senate can focus on moving Biden's relief package through.
OTOH while the trial is still making noise, some of JRB's doings are under the radar--not kicking up the objections that they otherwise might.
