The inability to establish bullet proof criteria to handle all situations should not paralyze the House. The Dems cannot continue to allow themselves to be held hostage to "but what will the GOP do in retaliation?" Further, the GOP has clearly established that they will do ANYTHING to grab and hold power. It doesn't make any difference if there is some precedent for their actions - they will take the actions regardless.
Agip did a good job of laying out why this action by the Dems makes sense. To think that something more than supporting the assassination of Dems is required for action is crazy. And the fact that it does not immediately strike everyone as such leads me to believe that Trump has been terrifyingly successful in moving the bar until nothing seems to warrant counter-action now.
"I could shoot someone in the middle of Fifth Avenue and not lose any voters." Indeed, he has moved even seemingly sensible people to no longer think action is warranted to any violent, seditious craziness.
I'm not defending her, but it ended up being a mostly partisan vote. The bigger question to me is how the F was she ever elected in first place?
Pre-Trump (or perhaps even pre-a-year-ago) I might understand this question. But now? You're really surprised that there are red districts out there like this? Sucks that there are, of course, but no longer surprising, unfortunately.
