If you believe Trump deserves to be impeached, what charges would you prefer?

You don't even address whether or not did an impeachable act. What he did was by far, the worst thing any President has ever done and dwarfs what Nixon did.
Do you not agree he needs to be held accountable? If not in the Senate, where should it happen?
I have very mixed feelings on this. I really think he did something bad but these rioters had already preplanned this and were locked loaded and ready for bear. Trump was still speaking when they attacked. House Dems were chomping at the bit to impeach Trump for ANYTHING. They have for four years been out to get Trump. Trump has done some pretty bad things but so too have House Dems. Trump deserved to be impeached but whether he actually incited the rioters is a tough road to hoe.
Elected officials who already left office CAN be tried - look it up, it has happened. The case was already made and you didn’t respond. Now you are just repeating a lie like orange man.
Mixed feelings? LOLz, no you don’t have those. You are just a trump loving cretin who fkn lost and can’t reconcile with it.
The clown is done and the libs are coming. Enjoy from your bunker! ?????????
Trump has his panties in a wad, because he can't Tweet insults at Rep. Chaney !

What the heck is a road to hoe?
I guess the "road to hoe" stupidity has already been addressed.

No worries, Brau. It bears repetition.

....and I wonder who could POSSIBLY haven't gotten the rioters to the point of pre-planning?
I also have mixed feelings on this. I can't decide how big of an idiot you are.
This is the core problem with Trumpism. Many tens of millions of people are like this woman - they don't know much, they aren't very smart and they follow people who project confidence. This is human nature - Americans and people in every other nation. We aren't exceptional in this.
So trump comes in and leads these tens of millions into lies and authoritarianism...and they like it.
And the R party has failed in its sacred responsibility to filter out lies and authoritarianism in order to protect fragile democracy.
So here we are. With a party that has fallen for lies and authoritarianism. Can we survive this?
Read this. It's the GOP but it's our problem.

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina (CNN Business)Ashley Vanderbilt says her four-year-old daughter Emmerson knew "something was wrong with her mom."
"I wasn't one hundred percent there like I should have been," she recalls.
After November's election she spent days on TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube becoming indoctrinated into the world of QAnon. By inauguration day, she was convinced that if then President-elect Joe Biden took office the United States would literally turn into a communist country. She was terrified that she would have to go into hiding with her daughter.
Many QAnon believers have clear political motives, but Vanderbilt says she is a passive participant in politics.
"I've always been someone that you just tell me what to do and I do it. I grew up being told we were Republicans, so I've always been that straight red ticket," she explained in an interview with CNN near her home in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, last Saturday.
She doesn't watch the news. "What have we heard the last four or five years? Don't watch the news. 'Fake news.' 'Fake news.'"
point is, the problem is that the GOP failed its core task: Putting forward appropriate candidates to lead us, politically. It failed completely, and is continuing to fail.
This woman should not be given the choice to vote for a lying autocrat - the party should have shut it all down way before trump got on the ballot.
But the reverse is happening - the GOP is adopting trumpism as its platform.
No idea how we get out of this.
Maybe if the GOP loses midterms again they'll figure it out.
So, this isn't really new, but here's an analysis of two post-election polls that shed light on why Trump lost. It shows how out of touch Trump and some of his followers are with mainstream America, and how Trump had to be a special kind of bad to lose this election.
Initially, Trump should have won because the 2020 electorate was more Republican than in 2016. Also, most people felt Trump would handle the economy better, and 61% said they were better off in 2020 than they had been four years ago. However, about a third of those who felt they were better off now did not vote for Trump.
Other highlights:
Independents and moderates fled Trump and went to Biden. Same for college educated white voters.
Generally, Biden was viewed more favorably than Trump. Dislike of Trump was stronger and more prevalent than dislike of Biden. Significantly more people said they voted mainly against Trump than mainly against Biden.
Significantly more people said that Trump was not honest and trustworthy than people who said the same for Biden.
Trump inspired new voters to come out, and these new voters were motivated to vote against Trump. Trump actually beat Biden among voters who had voted in 2016.
Trump blew it on Covid. Most Americans prioritized fighting the virus over re-opening the economy. Trump took the opposite approach.
Most people felt that Biden would handle the virus better than Trump.
By a wide margin, there were more voters who preferred mask mandates than voters who opposed mask mandates. Biden cleaned up with these voters.
Anthony Fauci, MD is viewed favorably by a large majority of voters, and Trump's attacks on Fauci hurt him at the ballot box.

To some extent, Trump was caught between a rock and a hard place. He took anti-science positions on the virus and kept his base energized, but by doing so he lost the middle. I don't know how many times it was noted in the media and on this thread that Trump did things that his base loved, but he wasn't doing anything to expand his base. These polls show that this tactic was fatal to his candidacy.
bolded: FFS.
Just goes to show how important turnout is. The Democrats maybe were complacent or just not that excited about Hillary in 2016 and stayed home. In 2020, there was massive anti-Trump enthusiasm plus serious voter registration drives that turned out a lot of people who didn't vote 4 years earlier.

Yup, I have 2 colleagues, registered dems, who said they didn't vote in 2016 because they didn't like Hillary but thought enough people did that she had the election won. They both went out to vote in 2020, and neither did so FOR Biden. They did so AGAINST Trump. My vote for Biden was done for similar reasons. I'm not enthused by Biden. He doesn't move the needle for me. But I would have voted for ANYBODY on the democratic ticket to get Trump out.
As for proving whether Trump incited the rioters - the rioters themselves have actually said so. Proving that this is Trump's fault isn't hard. Convincing enough republican senators to vote in favor of impeachment is the problem. I'm hoping Trump is forced to testify and he says something so stupid that it will leave many with no choice.
Thanks for sharing. When you say the GOP failed, sure they failed the country but they didn’t fail their own self interests. They sold out, much more than the Dems, looonng ago and it was intentional. They let trump through the door. Sure it would have looked bad and ruined his chances against Hillary if they shut him down in 2015/6, but over the course of many decades they could have made a pivot. They saw Trump as the ultimate useful idiot, a vehicle for them to openly crime and not have to pretend to be serving the people. Greed got them way too focused on short term personal gains and now all they attract are lunatics. It’s time to pay the piper.
Trump's lap dog bringing hate speech back to Trump country.
This idea that private tech companies, by law, must allow hate speech on their platforms, is the kind of ridiculous that only a dopey Trumper could come up with.
