Interesting, had to look that one up -
The president pro tempore has historically presided over Senate impeachment trials of non-presidents. When presiding over an impeachment trial, the president pro tempore takes an additional special oath to do impartial justice according to the Constitution and its laws. It is an oath that I take extraordinarily seriously
Seems legit. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if John Roberts gave him the idea - he is extremely protectionist of the Supreme Court when it comes to political matters like this. There's some good articles about his policy, especially after the first impeachment when he pretty much only served a symbolic role.

Actually most of them acknowledge the possibility of change *within* species but reject the notion that a single species can become two.

Why do Rs like being lied to so much?
I mean if someone lies to me once, ok, I'm on my guard.
Twice, I shy away.
Three times, that's it, I want nothing to do with that person.
But here, the likely next governor of AK is a confirmed deadbeat repeat offender liar.
Her people don't mind being lied to.
It's befuddling.

Yeah it’s perfectly fine. However, the Rs are already spreading lies claiming the trial won’t be legitimate since Roberts doesn’t even want to show up. The GOP is going to make a huge circus of the whole thing. Whoever thought conviction was in the cards I hope you are rethinking.
A taste of what Dems will use at the trial. And that POS Stone... what a despicable thing.

He’s watering down the GOP‘s argument that you can’t try him since he no longer holds office, LOLz. How does he still find a way to shoot himself in the foot after he already died?
Curious, Republican with the most punchable face?

maybe now they just believe in trump and whatever irks the libs.
They would probably point out that viruses are not considered living things like bacteria. Of course, that begs the question of how they deal with evolution of bacteria.....
Denying evolution requires a level of mental gymnastics that would scare the daylights out of Nadia Comăneci.
They seem to have no problem with the idea that God created the laws of physics. I don't know why they can't accept that God also created mechanisms for diversification of living things.
What it really boils down to is hubris. They think they have God all figured out. Instead, one needs to accept that creation is a work of brilliance that is beyond human imagination. Our understanding will only ever scratch the surface.

I wonder what her reaction would be if I told her that that she was the reason we couldn't get along if she insisted on pressing assault charges against me after I punched her in the throat.

Leaves plenty of wiggle room for suspending the fillibuster rule for particular pieces of legislation.
And the move give ol' Joe enormous power.

If this really happened, I'm betting that the daughter took Kellyanne's phone and posted it herself.
My guess is they would do what most good ole Christians do: Deny the science, say "the Lord works in mysterious ways," and then end it with an exuberant "Amen!"

It's not really bad news for Dems. I'd say it's more a stalemate. Joe's seat has to be very carefully handled politically or else you risk getting a full blown WV retard

manchin is trcky...he doesn't like being in the senate and he's in his 70s so he's a wild card. He tried to quit not so long ago.
He really doesnt' want to have to go back to his people and have to explain why he votes for lefty cultural stuff.
Difficult.
But his seat is doomed...I'm sure he can't get reelected so he's sort of free to do what he wants.
