Meanwhile, there's another current thread on a Canadian sub-elite just busted for EPO. Clayton and Rodgers were 40-50 years ago. Runners today have found other easier ways to achieve breakthroughs.
THE POINT of taking big improvements from the '60s/early '70s is that it is in the pre-EPO (or even blood-doping) era. If it was more recent it would be cast into doubt due to that. Of course you can be cynical either way, it's up to you.
Sondre Moen dropped a much tougher 4:00, from 2:12 to 2:05, and it didn't get this much suspicion. That drop was more equivalent to dropping 2:16 to 2:07/8.
