Marathon John, did you run Chicago yesterday? If so, how did it go? Fukuoka qualifier? If not, where are you running?

Just want to say thanks to everyone here who politely told me to stop being a bitch and just run the race. It's what I needed to hear. I've run a lot of marathons, but still manage to overthink it as race day nears.
Ran a slightly surprising even to myself PR, 2:33:32, with nearly dead even splits. The weather ended up being fine, not great, not bad, just fine. There wasn't a cloud in the sky, and the few times there was no shade to be found, it felt 10 degrees warmer than it was, but overall I never felt like it affected me too much.
I will probably sign up for Chicago 2018 just to cover my bases (signup opens in like 2 weeks, ugh), since I don't really have to pull the trigger on Fukuoka 2018 until next September. If not 2018, 2019 for sure. I'm may need to reach out to the Japan Running News guy I think, because best I can tell from the signup form, I need to get USATF to sign off on my entry?!?! Whatever, I have a year to figure it out.
Also as a side note, I'm totally a convert to the Vaporfly's. They're some serious shit. Didn't expect to drink the Kool-Aid, but the protection in the last 10k compared with the flats I've worn before was amazing.
Nice work. Several other LRC regulars had PRs on big days too. Way to not let the conditions get in your head.
Great Job! My runner did well also! Splits were a pretty even, 6:15 was the goal and she nailed it and got the B Standard OTQ. Interesting to hear about the Vaporfly. At the last minute my runner decided to go with the Skechers Road Ultra trainers. (she's a Skechers runner) She said her legs were way more protected the last 4 miles than any of her previous marathons when she wore something more light and less cushioned.
Traded some emails with the guy who won the masters title (2:26:40). He ran in the vaporflys also.
I'm kind of married to my Adidas Adios, but it is interesting to hear about some options.
I talked to several people wearing Vaporflys before and after the race. They all gave glowing reviews.
