Ok fine, sure but that is always the case with Simpson and Rowbury and Simpson has beaten Rowbury the last I don't know how many times. I also find this race strategy of Rowbury's annoying but that's not the point. I'm wondering if Simpson has run slower down the stretch the last two races and if so, why? It may just be because they are putting in another training block before World's and she isn't as sharp. But I'm still curious as it is uncharacteristic for her to have a weaker last 50 than Rowbury.
Rowbury typcially always has a faster last 100m, but Simpson gaps her by too much going in to the last turn, Simpson burns Rowbury out from the last 700m to the last 200, and Rowbury typically looses a little contact, look at the Diamond League meets from last year
The only exception is Prefontaine Classic where Rowbury essentially led for 1400m (rabbit was in for 800m), and Simpson just sat and kicked on her
So for those that thought Rowbury was wrong for doing it this race, Simpson did the exact same thing at Pre Classic, Rowbury was probably just returning the favor at a different venue
Also to note, in the 1st 200m, Simpson tucked in right behind Rowbury, then Simpson went around her so she actually put herself in that position and with a pace that hot, unless Simpson is slowing it down, there's no use in Rowbury using a whole bunch of extra energy to go around Simpson
