Why do people still choose iPhones over Android phones?

Do you consider the time you spend dicking around with buying and selling those things cost you?

The above link is the main reason I go iPhone. For at least 3 years after I buy the phone, I can be reasonably confident that I'll have access to the latest software the moment it's available. That's compared to the Galaxy Note, which RELEASED a major version behind, and never got the most up to date version of android. I also like the fact that I can bring my phone to an Apple Store if I have an issue, versus Best Buy(?) or some other third party.

5 mins for $530? What kind of job do you have where that doesn't make sense??! Unless you make 20m/year it's not dicking around.

Had an Iphone for four years. A 3g and a 4s. Having said that, their superior build quality is a total myth. Why would you make a phone encased in brittle glass-like materials that SHATTER when dropped? I mean it's absurd. Every iphone is either in a thick rubber case or cracked, period.

iPhones are for old people who use mac desktops like me. My high school/college age kids all use android, it's amazing what they can do. But all the cool stuff they can do isn't anything I have a need for. I'm ok paying more for an iPhone because it saves me tons of effort synching addresses, music, docs, etc.

Why did I switch from iphone to android?

-Moto X was 1/3 the price, $99 vs $299

-I knew a 5 people who have lost contacts and photos when updating iOS

-Apple is anti consumer. When you switch from and iPhone to Android it takes weeks to get your texts to go through your new phone. There is currently a class action suit if you dont believe me.

-The Moto X had better specs at the time at 1/3 the price

-Google is a far superior computer science, programming, computer information company than Apple and it is not close.

-if you use google drive and gmail the integration is light years better on Android

There is almost nothing I dont love about the Moto X. I find the OS much better than iOS.

1. The Moto X is a nice phone for the price but it is far from a hit even among Android users. Most people are shelling out the $200 for the Galaxy S5 or $300 for the Note 4.

2. It's not as fast as you think it is. Anandtech's benchmarks show that the fastest phones are the iPhone 6 and 6+. The third fastest is the iPhone 5S, which is a year old. That's the nice thing about designing your own ARM system-on-a-chip rather than buying them off the shelf.

Because my company has a contract with Apple and pays for my phone. Otherwise, I'm not sure I'd have a mobile phone. Scratch that, not sure I could do without one at this point, but if I were paying for it, it would not have to be with Apple.

Ummm, you mean you not buy any smartphone: Apple, MS-based, Google-based, or otherwise. Apple doesn't make a basic calls-only phone. That is what you would buy so iOS, Android, and Windows phones are not in your future.
