For sure Mekhissi is an idiot but Mullera is a two-time cheater and he said he's proud of his medal.
I prefer an idiot than a cheater.

I totally disagree with the DQ, you can't take away a touch down for dancing in the end zone. He did not impede the progress of his competitors or directly taunt them. Basically what he did was showboating; I have seen dozens of sprinters take their shirts off, which is no different. Mekhissi antics were over the top, but so is the DQ.
My daughter is 14. If she were in that mascot suit and he pushed her, I would have decked him with no regrets. The guy is a an arrogant prick!

LMAO wrote:"punched a mascot"? This is the funniest thing I've heard of in athletics for YEARS. What did the mascot do to deserve being punched? Must've been something.
He didn't punch a mascot in 2010, he punched Mehdi Baala.
He did push a mascot in 2012. Inside the mascot was a 14 year old girl.
Now he rips his top off with 90m to go.
Here is a highlight reel:

Rules are rules. It's not about what YOU agree with. Section 212.458934ab
This anger thing seems to work well for him as far as his performances go.
He's worse than an idiot. I mean, seriously, what is the deal with knocking over mascots?

You bet. So would I.
Apparently the guy screamed: "I am Zlatan Ibrahimovic" or something similar while running with his singlet in his mouth. He's obviously retarded.

I laughed ... but don't be giving him ideas, man.

Well, as far as I understand the ruling, the DQ is not the result of a subjective assessment regarding some sort of disrespectful behavior. MB was sanctioned because he violated competition rules. Obviously, you can debate some of these rules. Maybe athletes are required to wear their singlet from start to the end of the competition because of media coverage or because of sponsors who pay for being shown on the bibs.
However, regardless of the purpose of these rules, every athlete should be held responsible for obeying them, and MB is not an 18 year old youngster in his first international competition. Similarly, by showing up late at the call room, you are not going to compete although that does not harm any other competitor either. And I agree that rules should be equally applied to the fastest (even the European Champion) and the slowest runners in the field.

I'm even tougher. I'd pull out my shotgun and scare him back to Africa so my daughter doesn't get a mildly scraped knee
