Yeah my list is mostly american films - I just haven't seen enough great foreign films.
Not a bad list at all. Always more time to watch foreign films, but you've got two on there (if you don't count British movies as foreign).
Out of those, I haven't seen Godfather II all the way through ever (I own it on Blu-ray actually, so I need to get on that), but I saw the first one in a theater, which was a fun experience. Great movie, but it didn't hit me in a personal way.
Lawrence of Arabia and 2001 are spectacular on the big screen, and really the only times I've seen those movies has been in theaters.
Saw Breathless in college, but it's been so long that I have no opinion on it. Vertigo was amazing, and I need to rewatch that on Blu-ray. It's a truly hypnotic film. Blade Runner is another hypnotic neo-noir. Citizen Kane I can respect, but I also didn't connect with it personally. I like it more every time I see it, though.
Taxi Driver is a classic, and is probably in or near my top 10. And I need to see Tokyo Story. I think that's Ozu? I know Ebert adored it.
Can't believe given some of the utter bollocks mentioned on here that NO ONE has mentioned the actual Greatest movie of all time:-
Once Upon A Time In The West
My Vote:
STAR WARS (Episode 4: A New Hope). And I have liked all the other Star Wars movies to varying degrees, but the original was the kicker.
Beyond that, in no particular order:
West Side Story
Ferris Bueller's Day Off
GoodFellas
The Butler
This Is Spinal Tap
Forrest Gump
La La Land
The Blues Brothers
Tommy Boy
My Cuz Vinnie is my personal favorite
Top gun
