US Women in the marathon. Just when you thought that the US women were finally showing some parity in the marathon with the E. Africans, they pretty much get smoked at the 2024 OG marathon. Sisson was never a factor. Lindwurm ran well with a time that was just 2 min off her PR on a very difficult course in hot conditions. But she was out of contention after 25k. O'Keefe probably should not have raced.
Breaking ??????? give me a break...no pun intended. Maybe the LA games can have a hot dog eating contest..
I don't mind break dancing being in the Olympics. Those guys are pretty amazing and there are a lot of breakers from all around the world who take it seriously.
It won't be in the Olympics in 2028. But they are adding flag football?
That seems pretty silly to add. How many of the best football players play flag football? How many nations have serious flag football players?
They're talking at the moment like some NFL players will play flag at LA-2028. I'm incredibly skeptical, as I'm sure everyone else is.
Jakob In has been so big on the big occasion. He just didn't have it in the final. If they run that race 5 times he wins four. Not this final 1500, Paris...
The women's 400 is bereft of talent. That was the most boring world final I have ever watched.
I agree with some of your other points, especially breakdancing and Noah Lyles jumping around, but not this one.
The women's 400m had some incredible times! There was an Olympic record (Paulino). A British record for Amber Anning in 5th. Every finisher in the final was below 50 seconds.
It required sub 49 seconds for a medal. Thought it was a great race, unless you're referring to something else. I thought it was exciting anyway :) so I was quite surprised to read what you'd written!
That's fair. Naser is a good watch; Adeleke is too most days.
Maybe just knowing that the 3-4 best 400 runners only ran the 400h made it feel watered down. My American bias also doesn't help when we squeeze one through the final and she has an off day

I heard an unfounded rumor somewhere that E-Sports was making an appearance. Pretty sure I'd rather watch Mahomes throw 75yd bombs to CeeDee over some poor Azerbaijanian than a bunch of dorks clacking on their keyboards
Surprised so many people are talking about the men's 4x100. How is this a disappointment? If you have zero expectations, you can't be disappointed... I have zero expectations for that relay any longer. And for the people who feel like the subs messed things up, it's not like the hand-offs in the semis were smooth...
For me, it was Fiona choosing to start the marathon. I had a suspicion she wasn't well going in. She'd dropped out of a race in June, been super quiet on social media, looked off in the videos posted, and I wasn't even sure she was in Paris. So when Jess appeared in Paris, it was obvious who wasn't fit. While it sucks that Fiona is injured again, it would have been amazing to see Jess get a chance to run, and personally, I was disappointed in how that played out.
