Thiam is the favorite for gold now with that Javelin. Still, she can't sleep run that 800m, KJT needs to run with Anna Hall at this point.
If KJT goes with Hall, and puts in something like a 2:05 and runs a PB, then it'll certainly put pressure on Thiam who has a PB of 2:11.
Realistically, Kat will need to PB by around 2 seconds to win gold. Her LJ and 200 are just a little short of where she needs them to be right now and Thiam's HJ was better than I think a lot of people expected. Still, a good battle, and I expect Kat to go for it, at least make Thiam work for the gold
1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 13, and... 124! Shoutout Max Burgin for finally being healthy
World 5, 6, 9, 11 and 12 all eliminated in the semis
I'm really happy for him to make his first final. He's still so young but because he broke through as a kid, it seems like he hasn't progressed as much. Hopefully this is the start of a period of no significant down time so he can race consistently.
I've no idea what happened to Pattison. He can normally finish like a train. I think we'll find out he's ill because I've never seen him look so lifeless in the finish.
Still can't see past Sedjati for the gold, he's absolutely imperious in that last 100. Medallists look like being Sedjati, Tual, and Wanyonyi. Their change of gears is too much for the rest.
As much as he may be used to running relays, this was against grown a$$ men, which he has done in lanes. Granted the staggers are bigger and you’re practically running detached. But if he was injured or if he bombed because he’s a kid (this is not Penn Relays) then the other three legs could salvage it. I’m okay with him opening and getting a medal as an alternate when they sit him for the final.

Yep something definitely up with Pattison. He was in such a good position, it wasn’t a too fast first lap. He’d normally just kick away. What a shame for him.

Max looked good though. Really pleased for him.
Reminded me of Reekie. Looked to be in a good position in the final 100 and just faded.
Too slow fo regular 400m so she has to jump over hurdles. What's next for those too slow for hurdles?, jumping over hurdles then right into a puddle of water? Too slow for that, we'll add quicksand next.
For folks who are watching this session, where are you seeing it online or broadcast? I went to my usual source (Peacock web) and didn't see either a live broadcast or a replay option. Is there another option? (I'm open to replays or live where I can catch up)
