The crazy thing is I think he was fine but that’s the worst last 300 I’ve ever seen from him.
Dude - following a troubling pattern we have seen so far these championships from the OAC - just looking like are running on fumes in the final 120m...
Ritz claims they still don’t di double threshold days. Maybe they should start?
(Note that Nuguse actually does double threshold as Ritz is flexible in letting his athletes create their programs. Gee, I wonder if double threshold works?)

Well it also helps that Nuguse is arguably the most naturally talented miler on the face of the planet (took up running at what, age 17 and within what 6 years had run 3.43). He's definitely not a barometer for what's gone down here in Paris for this group.
Kenneth Rooks continues to be just an excellent competitor. Part of that has to just be fitness, but I also noticed a few key moves to put himself where he needed to be, and good water jumps where he needed them. I think he's going to do something impressive in the final. Not sure I have him for top 3, but it doesn't feel impossible.
Impossible?, no. But he just came .36 seconds from not advancing in, by far, the slowest heat. Rooting for him tho.
Wilkinson ends up 6th fastest overall but out of the final. Tough break. I thought he ran a smart race not going with the hot early pace. Unfortunately wasn't enough for top 5.
All you clowns need to stop with the idea that any fast guy in the 1500 or 5000 can switch to the steeplechase and immediately dominate. There is no way that Cooper Teare would have advanced in any of those heats, let alone qualify for the USA team. Geordie Beamish beat Cole Hocker 6 months ago to win World Indoors in the 1500, and he couldn't qualify for the final today. If you've never ran the steeplechase yourself, then you have no idea what you're talking about. It's a completely different event. There is no one in the USA that could switch to the steeplechase and beat Kenneth Rooks. Maybe Grant Fisher since he was a soccer stud in HS and has run 7:25 for the open 3k, but it would be a lot closer than any of you think
Beamish clearly has been injured otherwise that would have been a walk in the park. He said on coffee club a few weeks ago he hadn't been running due to an injury. Not sure how long he wasn't running for but he disappeared from Strava for the last few weeks so I assume he has missed a significant amount. That combined with the illness after his last race would result in a below par performance.
I wonder why they gave Richardson a time (51.86) after he pulled up in the 200? He made it across the line walking but he went out of his lane. Also can he repechage if able? Maybe it was just a cramp.
I think he can repechage if possible, i guess we'll find out. lane rule stuff doubt really applies if you pull up mid-race. That's just kicking a horse while it's down
