Eh come on. The 800 is a race dependent on pacing, athletes going with the pace, and the time of the season. We have seen historically fast 1500s/miles with more regularity on both mens and women’s sides in multiple stadiums/races per year. Hull has been in these races and she is what changed. I don’t know if she’s doping, but she is now one of the fastest ever. It is 100% a huge change in how she is considered. She is now far closer to Faith Kipyegon in time than Laura Muir put it that way. I’d say she was considered a step behind Muir before this and now she is 3s faster. I think Muir was the huge talent, now Hull is? It’s a bit hard to process. It’s like if Neil Gourley ran 3:27 this year behind Jakob running 3:26.
