I’m such a big fan of Molly. And marathoners are always walking a fine line between excellence and injury. She looked good at Chigaco! But I guess has always had her knee in some kind of strapping.
Going forward. Once she’s had a decent break. I’d be questioning her and her coach’s view that she does well on really high mileage. Often she’ll hit 130 miles. Is that necessary? Is her body recovering enough? Yes she has the engine for it but her body keeps breaking down.
Kiera does well on a lot less mileage and I haven’t seen her seriously injured just a few niggles. She needs to work out what she can achieve on less mileage.
