While a lot of what we try and get a handle on is posters insulting one another or being disrespectful to one another, the biggest issues for moderators besides making the judgement call on post reported to us, are a handful of posters who are obsessed about a particular issue and essentially make the boards much worse off because of it. They try and hijack the boards for their own obsessions.
Right now there is
1) A poster posting over and over about Nico Young's personal life. Not only are the posts homophobic but the person is sidetracking probably at this point hundreds of threads with this stuff. We ban the poster, etc, but they keep coming back for more. So if you see any posts like this the best you can do is report them.
2) A poster this week has probably started 50 threads saying we are unethical. We tried to engage in good faith but they kept doing it so we now are just removing these.
3) There is always the poster who starts threads about California, San Fransisco, computing, Semetic races, etc. Very obsessive behavior. Has gone on for years. They are very computer savvy. We ban and delete on a daily basis.
As always if you have anything and want to make sure we address it please email me
I think the issue is the unilateral decision making of the mods and their inconsistency. Cases in point:
1. Brojos and Gault can use profanity in their posts. None of us can.
2. I was once banned for life for using a quote that Emma Coburn herself used in her Instagram, whereas I was quoting her. She used a word to describe herself. Instead of researching the issue (this IS supposed to be a running site) the mods simply banned me for life.
3. The Brojos can take criticism about silly things like Rojo's spelling, but cannot take criticism about other things. The thread about what Ritz had to say about this site was quickly removed, yet the butt licking thread from yesterday stay up for almost 10 hours.
4. Most comments about Hiltz are instantly removed; yet it is HER that brings "HER" issues to the forefront on social media.
Just issue the site rules and make sure there ARE NO EXCEPTIONS - and this includes you two and Gault. We want consistency from every mod.
Wishing the Brojos, Gault a Merry Christmas and Greg, a Happy Boxing Day.
1) ban posts which demean people for being straight, white, male, etc
2) ban posts which exist solely to give unwarranted applause to homosexuals or transexuals
3) empower users to speak critically about the negative sides of the gay and trans movements at large (eg. Sexual promiscuity, immoral paraphelias, displacement of women from women's spaces, etc) without fear of banning or deletion
I will not need to be critical of Nico in specific. While I don't like the guy at all due to his recent changes, I don't harbor no ill will to him, but he's the only one that gets attention in this echo chamber.
If transgender people are framed as a threat to humanity, then what’s the logical response to a threat to humanity? Eliminate the threat. Those sorts of beliefs about trans people are why so many of them are bullied, harassed, discriminated against, and MURDERED. A thread framing trans people as a threat to humanity is blatant hate speech. Is that what you want your site to represent?
No one was calling for trans people to be murdered. I removed the thread today.
The poster appeared to be trying to link a bunch of “left wing” things they thought were related and even made a commentary on Queers for Palestine.
