Not sure that all of the trolls are Valby fans. Many of them are just jackwagons that don't like Tuohy for whatever reason. A lot of times they can even be someone that makes themselves look like a fan of someone just to make the the person that they're the "fan" of, look bad. It's the same mentality as a straw man. You'll see this all the time in threads about Valby. A Tuohy "fan" will bash Valby when, indeed, the person isn't even even a Tuohy fan.
I'm just a fan of the sport and I happen to like Tuohy a lot, Valby a lot, Markezich a lot, Elly Henes a lot and, gasp, Wiley a lot. There are many others that I like. It's great that there's so much young talent in the US. It's a great time for US track and field. I just don't get all of this over-the-top fan boy stuff. It's really strange and creepy.

Who will be her training group? Do you think she’ll move to flagstaff to train with elly henes etc? Or do her own thing?
Ryan Hill will be her training partner. He works with the NC State men's team right now. He will also be accompanying her to Flagstaff.

Any truth to the rumors that Hill is in line to take over for Rollie? Rollie is now in his 42 or 43rd year and has got to be eyeing retirement.

Congrats to Tuohy. She is fulfilling a dream and giving herself a shot.
Am I the only one though that is not crazy about her staying in Raleigh to train with Henes? For one, altitude. A few altitude stints is not the same as moving there. Plus she is just going to be around school still, not in a pro environment.
Tuohy said 'if it's not broke .. ' but things have not gone great for her individually lately and Henes has not shown success with other pros on her roster (Steelman, Hays etc).
Henes also shed light on her training saying that she mostly just trained with the team. What are they going to do differently now?

(The JoBros, of course, could substantially fix this problem with one simple act, but choose not to, because they clearly think this sickness is somehow better for their business.)
This is a concise description of what's going on. The vast majority of those who read LRC are normal, thoughtful fans of thr sport.

Steelman set a new PB in every event she ran last year (1500, 3k, 5k). Hays has literally just run her 2nd post-collegiate race in a half-marathon where she got 2nd and beat Natosha Rodgers. They were both 15:30 runners in college, i'd have to ask where you set your expectations for their pro careers if that is unsuccessful.
I think it's quite difficult to say they won't compete globally when they both are in the space of generational talent.
I like Aaron Rodgers but thousands of people can't stand him. Do you scold all of those people? I don't because I don't expect every sports fan to like every athlete. There is an odd defense of Tuohy. I stopped liking her after her 1500 prelim when she got annoyed with the announcer. She made it easy to like her even less after not starting the 5000 and then sitting through a press conference with her main competitors, while being sick.
Does not wanting my kids to watch a bisexual threesome at the Olympics make me a bigot?
No scholarship limits anymore! (NCAA Track and Field inequality is going to get way worse, right?)
