He’s moving to Park City. Think he’s not joining a group but not 100% sure on that. Not sure on coach other than it isn’t Mike Smith
Totally off topic, but your username caught my eye and I looked it up, thinking you might be a real elite runner or coach. The New Yorker article about Jim Hogue, very interesting read.
Lol thanks - not sure what about it makes me sound like a real elite runner or coach (I’m neither) but the James Hogue story is indeed a good one. The article is good and there’s a book about it too

Confirmed he is not joining a group and is doing his own thing. Still not sure on coach but it’s not one of the bigger names. The Tim Rowbury guess is an interesting one IMO but that’s just me speculating

Isn't Centro in Park City? At least he'll know ppl there.
A big piece of this is moving operations to Eugene. If you followed any of the other departed BTC athletes from a few years ago, they were enjoying life in Portland. Loads of good restaurants, quirky boutiques, live music venues, hipster coffee shops, etc. The city was the epitome of the New Urbanism that appeals to the young. Oh, having access to all of the amenities of Nike World Headquarters is pretty great. The place is an athlete’s paradise with amazing facilities and a lot of cool young people your age to hang with or date.
Then you get forced to Eugene. A college town filled with chain eateries and retailers, a lot of ugly neighborhoods, strip malls, plus a population of drunk students and old working class people pining for the bygone days of big lumber. While Hayward is probably the best track facility on Earth, you have to share it with a bunch of loud zit faced teens that believe they are God’s gift to the sport. One minute, they idolize you and then talk trash about you getting old and slow the moment that you turn your back. Your coach is pulled in too many directions, the college kids get dibs on the facilities, and all of your longtime friends/training partners are retired or have moved on and moved away.
I cannot decide if this is a huge fail for Nike or a corporate scheme to shutter the program while keeping Schumacher and Flanagan on the payroll?

I think if we've learned anything from Woody, you can train on your own and develop your own workouts if you have some other runners to key off of occasionally. Yes, Woody's with Mike Smith now but was solo for a while.

Not a well known coach........to most people.....
“This” as in it’s Tim or just confirming the not well known part?
I’ve been thinking Cranny goes to Team Boss - following Kate Grace, Infeld and now Fraser.
Karissa will not be ready to train at Cranny’s level AGAIN next year since she just had surgery(this is not knocking karissa v sad she has had so much injury problems the last couple years).
Gotta feel for Cranny basically grinding the bowerman workouts solo this year and she probably wants training partners
Would be very funny if he went back to Michigan and joined Very Nice and switched to Adidas. That said, probably (and should) join Mike Smith and keep a Nike contract.
Although given the money, recent success of young track athletes, and recent lack of success by American men, I think he should go to the marathon, which would open up more training opportunities. Don't even really need to be with a team.
A dude who just ran a 7:25 3000m, the 8th fastest outdoor performer in history, a few tenths behind Morceli should run the marathon?
