What kind of "scientific standpoint" are you smoking? You are not a scientist. You are just spewing nonsense that you have no expertise in.
There are plenty of proven dopers I can't cite who suck even when they dope. Just because Allie cheated and ran average times doesn't make her any different from other cheaters, especially when we still don't know what she was masking. Allie's case is the exact same as Shelby's except Shelby took better drugs and responded better.
I know a fair amount about PEDs....I've been racing guys that were later caught taking EPO. Do I have a PhD? No. Did I take chem and bio at Cornell? Yes.
The "science" generally shows (as in Shelby's case) a certain response and progression. Usually relative to the athlete's performances themselves (taking their training and age and other lifestyle factors into consideration) There are scientific studies that show improvements in running times from things like HGH and EPO used as clear "big time" PEDs.
Not all drugs are the same and it's not a simple black and white of: "doping" or "not doping" or "masking" or "not masking". We don't know what "Allie was masking" because she probably wasn't masking anything! You are assuming that she was trying to mask something and making the comparison to Shelby (who was banned for an anabolic steroid no less!). I already outlined the "big PEDs" like EPO and Testosterone and HGH. Don't you think we should treat those a little differently than someone who say trips a positive for something like THC?! (which is also regulated by WADA).
Shelby's case is nothing like Allie O's because Shelby has an insane story about a burrito from a food truck to explain her positive test (again back to the science here!). Her progression in faster times/improvement and body composition changes were also quite drastic during that time.
tldr: Basically Allie hasn't been good enough lately to warrant real suspicion. I really believe she is just young and insecure and wanted to fix her complexion and made a mistake and then felt bad about it. If she was doping then Spencer would be too. They are both on a long slow decline into obscurity as it is.

Is your first sentence supposed to be some kind of entrapment to get me to say something to get me banned?
Chem and bio at Cornell doesn't make you a scientist. I took business in school. AKA: I know when I'm getting a quick one pulled on me
The "science" also shows that "clean" Americans were beating the Russians left and right in all types of sports while supposedly all the Russians were engaged in state sponsored doping. You can still dope and suck at running, like Allie and the Russians.

Does anyone here care you took chem and bio at Cornell 15 years ago Sage? Zero relevance to what we're talking about. And here you go again making this wonky THC comparison again to draw attention away from Allie's ban.
The contrast between the stance you're taking on Allie today and your hardline approach on PEDs of the past is so funny. Like, TAS posting about PEDs literally days before Allie got popped levels of funny.
Seriously! Sage, many people take science classes in undergrad. It does not make you a scientist. It’s a tad embarrassing every time you *slide* this into your comments, especially on Twitter allll the time.

Some people pay attention and learn and retain from formal education. It is relevant to establishing credibility. Is expertise binary to you? Like, you have to work as a scientist for WADA or else you know nothing? He’s not saying some education makes him infallible. He’s saying his opinions have some support and foundation.
The way I see it she knows she is fast but she knows her days of the Olympics on the track are never going to happen. She has a varied skill set and will do running sports less common to be successful there. She loves the sport but she is way to laid back and chill to put up with the type a wackos as a full time track runner. She sees the big picture. Love the sport and enjoy it. My opinion.

Well during covid, those that did not have a medical PhD and gave their "expertise" were labelled as unqualified whackos even if they had high levels of education. Exact same thing that Sage is doing now giving his unqualified "expertise" on "scientific position" on what is a PED and what is not. Sage is just "bro-sciencing".
Canaday is your typical hypocrite. He says he’s against doping, but really He isn’t. He is against doping only if and when it suits him. If it’s someone he doesn’t like or a competitor of his, well then they are a dirty cheat! If it’s someone he likes or someone who offers what he deems to be a plausible excuse, well then it’s nuanced, you see. In fact, with his educated background, he actually knows better than all the folks with the anti-doping organization about what substances should be on the banned list and what substances should be excluded. He’s made this explicitly clear on this thread. Imo, he would be better off if he just came clean and said he doesn’t really care about PEDs in sport, he just signals that he does.

Considering Allie got such a short ban confirms that many people believed her hence the light sentence. It's not like Sage handed down her penance. He is just echoing what others are thinking. Basically this isn't the burrito excuse from a fraud who benefited greatly from the cheating. If she cheated what did she gain in performance? Mediocre times and injuries and a sponsorship from a company no one has heard of?
Oof, even more of you guys are crawling out of your basements, huh?
Here’s a question: If the masking agent is TUE eligible, why wouldn’t someone trying the cheat get the TUE approval? It would better their chances of getting away with doping. Getting busted for something that could be approved would be a dumb move by a cheater, but not as dumb of a move by someone who wasn’t looking to cheat, just careless.
Interesting how a poster can violate the rules by insulting another poster but my post got deleted which didn't violate any rules. Makes you wonder sometimes about who is doing the posting.
