Hannah called Hiltz she and then her before correcting herself later in the call.
During the weather delay a pre-recorded segment about Hiltz was played. Cut back to the studio and Jeanette Kwakye attempted to hand over to Steve Cram for comment in the commentary box, getting the pronoun wrong. Cram, after alluding to her mistake immediately got it wrong twice at which point Paula Radcliffe took over and somehow managed to get it correct despite looking like she’d seen a ghost. To be fair everyone involved was visibly in a state of distress.
Hilarious television and I hope it’s kept in for posterity.
Who cares if they is misgendered. Nikki was born and looks like a female. No one would mistake Nikki for anything else. It is completely natural that someone (without thinking) would naturally refer to them as "she". Hannah corrected herself so that should be that. The more people point this out the more people will get peaked and realize how dumb this woowoo gender stuff is.

agree - it is going to happen at almost every event when they are in a race with a bunch of women who use "she", "her" for pronouns. Just let it go.

In the heat presentation Norwegian commentator #1 put a lot of effort into talking about Hiltz' vocal activism against the Hungarian treatment of homosexuals, and about Hiltz' gender identity. He got everything right according to the book.
After the heat Norwegian commentator #2 (Rodal, OLY champ 1996) said "great job by Hiltz, the American girl finished in third", before immediately realizing he f'ed up, and to make up for his mistake he repeated everything #1 said about non-binary and the story about activism etc. Probably got the evil eye from one or both of his sidekicks and felt like he had to 'make amends'.
Guess we're lucky that only 1 athlete across 4 heats needs special treatment.
First round went basically to form, with the most notable casualties being Bobocea, Vissa (who PR’d with a 4:01), Chepkirui, and the biggest one, Nanyondo who bombed.
Good round for the Americans with all 3 advancing quite assuredly.
I’m glad I upgraded Hassan from a non-medal to silver in the prediction contest yesterday, as she looked like she’s on a complete other level than Muir despite sandbagging the first 1100m. I thought Welteji looked good and relaxed running a hair behind Kipyegon, and Nelly Chepchirchir continues to display her talent—though front-running 4:01 in the first round might be a sign of her inexperience.

She's the one who claimed some days she is a male and others a female. Not me. Your anger is misdirected.
Hiltz elaborated more on that point, writing that some days she wakes up “feeling like a powerful queen” and others she gets up “feeling as if I’m just a guy being a dude.” She also notes that there are some days when she identifies “outside of the gender binary entirely.”
nobody is crying for a diehard track fan who is not willing to pay $6 for 10 days of track and field championships.
Where can I do that if I don't live in the US or one of the countries that carries the broadcast? Tell me please. I'm willing to pay a lot more than $6 for a good quality broadcast. And yes, I have VPNs, but I shouldn't need to play this game for every track event. I just want to be able to sign in from anywhere in the world with a subscription. If it costs $500 a year for all championship and DL meets so be it.

kept in?
Kept in on the ‘watch again’ recorded live stream on BBC iPlayer.
As it stands the full recording has not yet been made available.
She was a soph for outdoor track. Best nickname so far is the 'iron stork'. I believe she's now ahead of Wiley on collegiate list behind only Simpson. Her 4:02 would have Q'd in heats 1 & 2.
This is where "Lists" get confusing.
The IN-SEASON LIST has Simpson #1 and Wiley #2. This ends after the NCAA Championships and so Wiley's 4:03.22 counts. Her 1:59.00 for 800m, however, is too late to count for the in-season 800m list.
The ANY DATE LIST has #1 Simpson, #2 Jessica Hull, #3 O'Sullivan, #4 Hull, #5 Wiley.
