I dunno if I agree.
First of all, Amos. Guy showed up running 1:41 out of nowhere, a trend that continued for a long, long time. Remember that 1:41 in 2019? Plus, in the year before he was caught, he stopped tightening up in the homestretch, which was basically his trademark. If anyone is guilty, its him.
Now for Asinga. What you said is true - there is no rush for him to run the times he did. But people always want more. I feel like it is a common mindset too, especially in a sport like athletics. a 9.8 guarantees:
- a US HS record
- the first high schooler under 10 wind legal
- becoming the youngest runner to break 10 and 9.9
- additional NIL valuation
- pro offers
- more college offers if that was something he wanted
- the prospect of competing for other countries
- the prospect of competing at bigger meets
- the prospect of competing at WORLDS
- and of course, fame and glory
And those are just those I thought off right now. I'm sure there is more. There are so many reasons for him to dope.
To get more chicks...
