Honest questions. Why doesn't the Creighton athletics page list T&F since, as you mentioned, there are results for Creighton on the Big East section of TFRRS? You used the term "sponsor". Does that mean Creighton T&F is a club sport and not a varsity sport? Does Creighton offer T&F scholarships?
Great question, track was added and approved right before the previous AD retired. The new AD didn’t want to put in on the website prior to the announcement of the transformation committees verdict (they were concerned that they would reduce minimum sports required and didn’t want to list it on the website just to cut it). We will compete in the Big East next year and should have it added to the website this summer, we can qualify athletes for regionals and nationals. As I said email me if you have further questions.
That was like pulling teeth to get this out of you. So, when exactly does the transformation committee verdict come in? Would it be correct to say that you are hopeful you will have a track program? Would it be most accurate to say that when and if the website lists a track and file program that would be the point in time when you actually truly have one?
First of all, I don’t need to post my son’s times. It’s none of your business. He’s a good kid, but has less than zero interest in Creighton. He deserves better.
LOL, after seven pages and in the end, this is the exact answer that I expected to get out of the OP.
Transformation committee verdict came out in January, track is two seasons official, we do not plan on adding field events for the foreseeable future. We are merely waiting for a tab to be added to the website, trust me the website hang up has been frustrating, as it has caused confusion like this. All of our social media handles have been changed to reflect that we do indeed sponsor track.

I see it on your twitter and instagram. Ok, apologies, I'll buy. Best of luck. It's a good conference for track emphasis.

You're right, you don't have to list his times. You also didn't have to brag about how good he is...but you did. But now you don't want to, or can't, back up your bragging.
He is currently in the top 25 of his event in the United States. I'm shocked how little interest college coaches have shown. He finished last year in the top 75 of his event in the United States. The school he really wants to...
I have been coaching for 10 years and have seen the same thing over the past 2-3 years. I think coaches got lazy after having a year off with pay. I have a guy on my team right now who ran 4:12 as a junior and is not signed yet as a senior. 90% of coaches didn't even respond to him even though he would be one of the top guys on dozens of teams that he contacted. I expect that he will run 4:07 this year. He is leaning toward attending our state school while continuing to contact the coach after arriving. He may end up running on the club team which will be a sad situation. I have two juniors on the team who have run 1:55 this spring and they are starting aining the same process. I have gone through the process with dozens of athletes over the past 10 years but the first 5 years were great while the past 2 have been frustrating.
This is awful if true. Recruiting is the name of the game and coaches are not even responding to a 4:12 athlete? I saw another post that said a 4:55 female is getting little to no interest and find that hard to believe. Any/all college coaches who don't even have the intelligence to at least reply to interest like this should not be coaching anywhere, ever.
A 4:12 with supershoes is probably a 4:18 without supershoes. Not as surprising that coaches aren't reaching out, although probably lower level D1 programs would still take them.

This is true. I don't need to list my son's times.
That obviously wasn't me above, I didn't come here to bash anyone. I felt my question had more or less been answered by some of the posters above.
I didn’t read the whole thread, but has anyone suggested that OP’s son should identify as a black obese woman?
Why would he do that? Pretty daft. White males get preferential treatment in the college admissions process since elite colleges are mostly female now and more and more white males are taking a pass on college.
As more women than men continue to apply to colleges, it’s gotten easier for male applicants at some private colleges to get in — and harder for female applicants. Despite this, women make up the majority of students on U.S....
In 2010, our large government agency actively sought out white males bc the organization had too many women, in its eyes. Same thing is happening with colleges. I could tell many similar stories, but I want to enjoy my Saturday.
ANYWAY, if you don't post times, we can't help you. "Top 25" isn't that helpful.
Also -- those who are all like I went to NIU and have a great life ... That's great. Having a degree from NIU or EIU or whatever lower tier school is like having an ugly wife. Like, yeah, you're not lonely and maybe get some occasionally, but you still have to live with having an ugly wife.
He should consider a top 5 juco. Some of these schools race against the big boys several times per year.
Get his 2 years out of the way then transfer to a 4 year school. I know of several men who ran for a local Juco who then tranfered to a top 15 academic public university and is running there.

The advantage blacks get in the admissions process at elite colleges is nearly beyond comprehension. The “test optional” movement is an obvious attempt for these colleges to be able to say that certain applicants are just as qualified as all other applicants and so they do not have to report that certain applicants’ SAT scores are 300 points lower than many rejected applicants.

Is that why elite institutions are predominantly black in this country? Oh wait...
