Relax fanboy. She can do whatever she wants. She csn hang up her spikes today. She owes me (and you) nothing. But folks like you often complain that Syd, who is a once in a lifetime runner, doesn't get the respect and adoration that Bol gets. It would certainly be nice to see the GOAT on the track alot more. Until then you're gonna have to endure more Femke threads.
Femke Bol en Lieke Klaver kijken hun ogen uit bij de internationale wedstrijden, maar zetten ook razendsnelle tijden op de klokken. In deze video vertellen z...
Jesus takes sides in running races? You would think he would have more important things to think about. Like a war in Ukraine. Or maybe he just exists in your imagination.
The Lord is not playing favorites, but he has laid out a path for each of us to follow, and those who do will be rewarded.
Coming for Bol, who's coach isn't CVC, and never has been CVC (and he has had nothing to do with her training) yet staying silent on McLaughlin being coached by Kersee, is laughable
Dude!
CVC was the Athletics head coach and ran the papandal centre!!!!! oversaw the whole thing you idiot!!! No not her direct coach as thats another fraud/puppet in the making! Remember rocky 4. Its just another version of NOP
Go find the article! and actually read what I even said!
As for Syd and Kersey, heck that entire programme can go suck it! Absolute drugs history and the guy shouldn't be coaching ever again! the fact that these ladies are willing to still go there says a lot about them, absolutely agree!
Why didnt Mu run the 600 as planned! maybe was too "close"
I don't need to find 'the article'(which article, pray tell, are you referring to? There are many on CVC..) I'm more than familiar with CVC and his involvement in the sport. And I refer you to my original post; CVC had nothing to do with Bol's training camp or preparation. It has all been under the guidance & tutelage of Laurent Meuwly & Bram Peters, & CVC has had no influence.
As for the Thyrax 'accusations' from van Diepen , I suggest you familiarise yourself with more up-to-date news. Van Diepen clarified his words in a statement to the press:
"I regret that the performance of athletes, the Dutch athletics program and the coaching by Charles have come under suspicion as a result of recent publications around my words.
I was actually referring to an introductory meeting with Charles in February 2019, in which there was talk about looking for and setting boundaries in a broad sense. Thus philosophizing about the boundaries in sport and how far you go as an athlete. I wrongly got the feeling that Charles was encouraging the use of thyrax, which he was not".
So there you go. And no other athlete has spoken about CVC trying to encourage them to use thyrax.
The other accusations re CVC was around his slightly sexist and blunt approach, and comments he made to Lisanne De Witte. Van Diepen did say that CVC criticised him for attending parties. But we all know what CVC's like, he was like that to Denise Lewis & Kelly Sotherton when he coached them, even calling Sotherton a 'wimp' right after she won heptathlon bronze in 2004 for not 'trying harder' in the 800m. He's a hard man. But he does not oversee any doping programme.

I know the 400 hurdles is her first love but outdoors she has to get the 400 and 800 records.
Make them clean records.
If anyone gets those records - and it won’t be easy - it will be SML in the 400 and Mu in the 800. They will team up with Abby Steiner and Britton Wilson and take down that 4 x 400 record as well. Team USA baby!!!
Jonathan Gault says journalists aren't supposed to root but on the MB I'm a fan and I 100% want her to win a world title and have predicted she will eventually win one. She LOVES the sport and is always competing. Unlike so many super talented female phenoms of late, success doesn't seemt to be a burden to her - it's in fact the opposite.
For everyone saying she automatically loses to Sydney, BOl is 1.04 seconds faster at 400 this year than last. If you subtrack 1.04 seconds from her 400h pb of 52.03, you get 50.99 - a time that Sydney has only exceeded once in her life.
The 400h both on men's and women's side reminds me of men's tennis when Fed arrived. We thought - no one will ever be as good as this at tennis and then suddenly there were a coupld people basically just as good. Warholm and Syndey are amazing but they have to be on top of their game to win.
I like this take. I’m always a fan of athletes racing more. In particular, the 400 meters is under 1:00 of racing. It doesn’t take that much out of you compared to like a 10K. I also think it helps with race tactics and finding where your limits are.
Side note, why was Bryce Hoppel good in 2019? Why is he not good now? Answer: he raced a lot in 2019.
Abby Steiner continues to improve because she’s racing a lot. Other athletes should take note.
Abby Steiner ran a lot in 2022. She ran 21.77 at US nationals. On the same track about a month later, care to remember what she ran? There is running a lot and there is running too much.
And people wonder why Syd doesn't get more love and respect. Bol races all the time. Can't love what you never see.
Who are you to determine how often an athlete races. They will race absolutely when they want and it will have absolutely nothing to do with you. Who are you ? Are you going to tell them how many times a day they should brush their teeth.
IKR. So darn weird with that she ain't running enough comment. Good for Syd I say not killing yourself day after day. Leave that crap for the NCAA athletes who are run into the ground.

Barry, Steiner is not racing a lot. She raced too much in college and had good results last outdoor season at the USATFs and WCs in spite of racing too much, not because she raced too much. This indoor season she has raced 3 times - two 400s & one 300. She is also done for the indoor season. Last year she raced around 60 times. I would expect leading up to the USATFs and Budapest that she will race 1/3 of what she did last season.
in terms of the Femke vs Syd thing, some of these threads are beginning to remind me of the Tuohy vs Valby threads. It will all get settled in Budapest.
im pretty sure femke would not have run a 49.2 against jarmila, back in the early 80s.take the shoes away, and put her on an 80s track, her run would be nearer 50.2.still ridiculously fast, but not as quick as jarmila.

Abby had no individual success at WC because she raced too much, having to run the NCAA circuit. After running a WL leading 21.7 for the 200M for a short time a month earlier, she could not even run a sub 22.2 on the very same track at Worlds. Too many races in them legs. I expect her to come out all guns blazing during the outdoor season and being very competitive in the 200M. We shall see.

A bit of apples and oranges comparison, no. you have removed shoes and track, but made no mention of the drug cocktail Jarmila was on. Is this your way to say Femke is juicing as well or you don't think Jarmila was?

SML is a prodigy true, but I don't see any cis gendered clean female breaking the 400M or 800M records.
