So, Kessler will go on 9/4. I am not sure Hocker and Nuguse are in, considering they ran yesterday, I did not know that they were in Lucerne until day before, that is on me..I should have been aware. I guess they could still be in this on 9/4 as it would seem at least Nuguse is looking for a faster time than that one yesterday . The next year Q standard I believe is 3:34.2 "In the window". I do have other info , but cannot post it yet, sorry.Stay tuned.
Too bad Kessler isn’t running the full mile, as I believe he could take Ryun’s U20 US record and his own U20 1500 en route. I think he’s capable of 3:32, but I’m still sticking with the 3:33 prediction. Depends on the race really.
And where would he get into a full mile paced like that?

Hopefully a hot pace is set for this one with better conditions than Lucerne. Would like to see what Nuguse can do if he hits 2:36-7 with a lap to go and the same to Kessler, even if he's a little off the front in that sort of race.

I think what you will find is Kessler will be right on whatever pace there is, I doubt he will lay far back at all, if even at all. He has been over in Europe for 34 days as of today, that's a long time to try and hold onto your fitness as a 19 year old. The goal of this is to try and run a PR, that's may seem obvious and simple, but it's not always the plan, sometimes trying to follow and place as high as you can is the goal, I presume if conditions are right, this would be a real shot, I hope they all follow the pacer, assuming it is set up for 3:32 or so?whomever is in this. one.
Late on the uptake on this thread BUT I was at Tooting last week helping out (it’s my clubs home track) and got a chance to chat with Christian and Hobbs in between races.
On the mile he said he was there to help Avila’s streak, wanted to at least get to 1000m then see how he felt afterwards. Obviously felt great.
On the trip they all expressed frustration with the three major champs disrupting the summer season. But were enjoying the UK and grateful to have a chance to race on a brand new track surface in a super local meet.
On Engels, he wasn’t paid by BMC or anyone else to pace, running as a workout and to help friends run fast times. He entered as a participant not an official pacer but never intended on finishing any races.

Did he happen to tell you where he will be racing in September?

I put that out already. 9/4 Podova 1500M. Possibly 5th Ave road mile 9/11? And he doesn't tell me anything, I do not know Hobbs, I am good friends with Ron.
Thats 9/5/2021...LOL, you are right, he would not be on there. I talked to Ron at 4:45 today.
Oops, these damn European countries need to update their start lists lol.
Here ya go. Hobbs Kessler is IN the 1500M, even though that Kessler is not listed. It was confirmed again, after I spotted the entry omission. Solid field, Sowinski and Grice to pace it looks like.

Idk… lots of scrubs and runners not at PB fitness this year. Hard to see a 3:32 race, but maybe it will happen.
This is a great field of the young American guys. Hoping they get good conditions and solid pacing! Very excited. Hope there is some kind of livestream available.
A 3:32.x race will or would happen off the pacing anyway, Nuguse did run sub 3:35.00 winning in July and in June. I would think, they would not be continuing on..unless he had a decent chance of at least running the Standard. Of 3:34.2.
