Right then, what are the age rules. We need to clarify this. We need a clear definition in which we can adhere to with no confusion.
- No one over the age of 23 may speak about anyone under the age of 18.
- No one under the 18 of may speak of anyone over the age of 30.
- No one over the age of 30 may speak of anyone over the age of 70.
- No one over the age of 60 may speak of anyone under the age of 30 or over the age of 80.
- No one over the age of 80 may speak of anyone under the age of 18 and over the age of 18.
What else? I don't think this rule set is complete yet. This is more complicated than I thought it would be.
It's not complicated. Something like that.
Everybody can only judge people +/- 25% of your current age.
If you are 20 you can judge people from 15-25.
If you are 40 you can judge people from 30-50.
If you are 60 you can judge people from 45-75.
Ah, elegant. This will work superbly.
The Brojos must now work to implement this system immediately. First, they will need to need to construct an accurate age verification system and then program in the age-equation.
Do other sports have forums of grown men talking about high schoolers? Kinda odd to me.
To answer the question in the title-it depends. Hard to define where the "creepy" line is but it's similar to Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart in his definition of pornography--I know it when I see it. Interest in top performances, school choices, etc seem perfectly normal. Some other comments cross into creepy territory.
To answer the question in the body of the comment. Yes and basketball is much worse, just ask Julian Newman or Bronny James.

Do you not realize that many grown men are coaches, have children of their own who run, or are otherwise interested in promoting the sport? If that creeps you out, maybe you have poorly founded concerns.
You guys that follow HS girls are full on creeps. You discuss the track girls you obsess over during dinner with your wives? I doubt it. Because you feel guilty, that’s why you don’t do it. Get a life and it’s just plain creepy to obsess over teenagers. Coaching is not even a job and certainly not an excuse.

It’s probably a fair bet that other sports have far more of this than track/XC, in ratios directly proportional to the amount of fan support and money in the sport.
Is it weird if someone who doesn’t have kids playing goes to a HS football game? What about a poorly attended different sport?
just bizarre how americans enjoy talking about school childrens sports than senior level sports. just a bizarre culture in that country.
Sports are for children. It is pretty weird that college level sports exist, at least the ones that bring in big money: football, basketball, baseball. Pro sports, adult men paid to play children's games, so messed up.

Is it weird that you were bothered enough to make a post about it? What outcome are you expecting? If it's not the one you wanted will you let it ruin your day? I don't care if you're 15 or 95, live life and don't let silly things bother you.
I'm 29 and agree with this comment 100 percent. The OP has no life, is a shill for site, is one of the moderators or owners of the site. His/her post is weird and he/she hasn't figured out the meaning of life and how to live it. Sad:(. You have my pity.

I talk my wife's ear off often during cross country season about my athletes. They so happen to be girls.
I see my athletes as family, as if they are my daughters. I know many other coaches that are my age that feel the same way.
If you judge me negatively for being a male coach in his 50's that coaches high school girls, you most likely have some big issues. Often, a person will project his/her own thoughts on others when they imagine themselves in that role.
Do you have difficulties imagining coaching girls because you are not able to respectfully view them as athletes without objectifying them?

Please teach us the meaning of life, Mr. Creep pedophile.

Hahahahhahaaa!! An over the hill male still coaching? Isn’t it time to get a real job? I’m sure your thick wife loves you talking about the new blonde star on your team. I’m sure your girls are family, perfect thing to say as you’re hugging them in tour office and sending texts to them.
