You are being misleading. He won twice against literally nobody. It was not part of the global series also. Just National. Easy to run fast on one of the best weather days in history with no fear of anyone being able to catch you. In a competitive field, he runs fast but loses. Look at his past performances against opposition at Pikes. Joe gray and touru of Japan have demolished him and they are sea level born athletes! Get over it, seth isn't that good when it counts. Look at his finishes at major Championships and top marathons. He is literally always underperforming. He really should just be there more for the kids and fam, running isn't something he will ever be world class. Considering all the time he puts into it, he is wasting life. No hate just some clearing up with facts
So there were no other runners in the races he won and he was the only competitor? Or do you "literally" know how to use the word "literally" correctly? Moran.
I'd say through 9 miles he's under goal pace, next 9 reverts to just over goal pace, last 8 he blows up. That 3 x 5 shows he is unable to pace himself, and throw in race conditions and a build up of pressure, I foresee a blow up. 2:43ish in the end.
Excuse wise though... hmmmm.... food again? Bit played out. Shoes? Can't blame Vapes - they are tried and tested. Course is pretty flat and fast. I will say the blame will fall on mental duress caused by having to convert prices to Euros from USD.
I mean ooooh boy, in the Netherlands, or 'Holland', which is another name for the country, which is, ummmm, kinda crazy, two names for a country..? I mean... Anyway, for you, for the D-G-RRRR, so you know, you um, you have to pay for things in something called the, uh, u.. uh Euro. Ayyyynd, ayyyyyynd, ughh... you know what? It's a.... it's a... well it's a little confusing. You know me DGR, I'm honest. I'm honest! OK so eurowwwww, eura? *inspects coin* You, row. It's *laughs* money. its money people, just like in the YOUUUUU ESSSS AYYYYY, but uh, it's also, well, different. Coins and uhhh, notes.... They're just... oooh boy. And you know what else? Things do not cost the same. They just don't okkkkkk, and so for those of you thinking of going overseas and you know, maybe you want to buy a coffee at starbucks, using money, using some of those American dollars, it's.... it's just not going to work. It's not! You need to get some Euros and oh. You will need to, to also be prepared, when things don't cost the same. There is something called an exchange rate and its kind of like, it's some way where they take your money from America and maybe give you more or less, yep its less sometimes , WOW. It's crazy, it's crazy people. It's crazy and all that means things are different. They just... OK so anyway, um... that's uh, that's something to think about. Oooooh boy that was A LOT but I needed to let you know that sometimes, sometimes... in other countries, it's different. Wow...

I am a fan of SJD and his work. Trying putting something out there every day... it takes a lot of work. It did upset me that he said he needs to go overseas to get competition... come on dude, there are plenty of US races with plenty of 1:03-1:05 and 2:14-2:17 guys racing. I did not like that comment as a fellow sub elite. I think that by going overseas you are potentially avoiding the competition!

You are absolutely right about domestic races. He could run some mid-tier US races, perhaps score a little money, get some VIP treatment and possibly even win. I'd venture that winning something like Surf City, Flying Pig, or a Rock N Roll Series race would be better for his brand long term than chasing an OTQ overseas. Heck, those races might even provide pacers and help to create video footage in exchange for SJD hyping the event to his subscribers.

SDJ sees more value in international viewership. Read his comments. They worship him. Same reason he took up the “worlds game” of futbol and tries to awkwardly work in relegation into shoe reviews
Absolutely. He never works on pacing he always goes by feel. Never trains pace always goes by feel and then he tries to race by pace. Doesn't work. Last time in amsterdam he did run by feel too and chased the stronger runners. Because who needs technology when you can go by feel and euphoria.......we all know how it ended...

My prediction: Goes out in 1:08, collapses hard and struggles in to a 2:28 or slower finish.
Then he drops some cryptic comment about reflection and reassessment designed to get his fan base engaged with "We still love you, SJD!" and "You STILL da' man!" platitudes on YT comments. There will be several days of mopey videos and an emotional live chat for subscribers. About Wednesday or Thursday, he will have (and film) date night with True Love at a restaurant that he scouted out on a run. They will have a heart-to-heart about goals and the future. She will say supportive things and feign bits of excitement. After a weekend of additional reflective content (loads of walking around the house with coffee, foam rolling, standing around his basement looking contemplative...), he will tease a BIG announcement about the future!
The announcement? That he is giving up road marathons and focusing on Pikes Peak and trail racing from here on out. Maybe trying to step it up to the international scene. TL will look all excited and supportive. Seth will be back to his hyperactive grinning self. The channel rolls along and his fans will eat up the slow high mileage, beauty shots of The Rockies, etc.

I don't mind Seth in small doses, but yeah if there's one thing he does that actually bugs me, it's when he starts that kind of talk. I remember in his run up to Pike's Peak he was putting himself on Kilian's level. Even kind of insinuates that he thinks he could beat him. He'll be like "If we raced, who knows? Who knows?? I'm just saying, guys!"
There's nothing wrong with being upbeat and believing in yourself, but he goes a bit past that into straight narcissism sometimes. It's a bit off putting.
