This is the underlying issue.
I don’t think it’s “brogressive” to consider transwomen as women. You do.
You expect them to carry around a list of spaces where they are to remind them of when they are are men and when they are women:
At work: woman
Bathroom at work: man
Bathroom at home: woman
Restaurant: woman
Bathroom at restaurant: man
At Target: woman
Changing room at Target: man
Working out at the gym: woman
Running a race: man
You see how ridiculous these “rules” become?
A transwoman is a woman. My rules for that woman are:
Anywhere you go, in all walks of life: you’re a woman.
But Lenny, why is it up to you to write the rules that I and the other 51% of the population who are female must follow? Why is it the place of you and other blokes to decide and decree what a woman is? Why does your voice and vote count more than those of us who are female?
My experience in this area, which is extensive, is that guys who decree that men can be women don't have even the faintest familiarity with female anatomy, physiology and life experience. Their views about what a woman is are all based on superficial sex stereotypes and male fantasies.
Lenny is fine that he thinks he should be able to set rules for women. He knows what it is to be a woman - without being one. I guess he's equally ok that women should set rules for what it is to be a man.
