I don't know who this guy is. I looked up the story and it seems he was tweeting controversial, misleading info. about Covid.
In that regard, I kind of agree with Twitter. I agree Trump shouldn't be on Twitter, especially after the Capitol riots.
I guess I have something in common with this guy because I was permanently suspended from Twitter a few months ago.
The rule I violated was 'hateful speech'. I called a female user a dumb c***, after she was tweeting me the middle finger emoji. I would think the middle finger emoji is also a form of hateful speech but for Twitter it isn't.
I felt my response was appropriate given the nature of the other users tweets.. but Twitter says I crossed a line.
Do I regret being banned when that is the behaviour I am dealing with? No, Twitter can shove it, I don't care to play by their silly rules.
Twitter by large and part has a mob mentality that seems to (at least in my instance) lead to suspensions. I've seen numerous accounts violate rules during the time I was on Twitter. It would have been next to impossible for me to report each and every account.
So, Twitter has accounts suspended like mine, yet allows thousands and perhaps millions of accounts to exist which have a history of violating Twitter rules.
No that is not me trying to excuse my ban. I deserve the suspension because I agree, I broke Twitters rules.
I just don't think Twitters rules are enforced. I know they aren't. If everyone who broke Twitter rules became suspended, they would have a much lower number of users.
I don't think it's right for me to be suspended from Twitter while other users who've violated Twitter rules keep their accounts. So in that regard Twitter is a silly, biased platform that I am glad to not be on.
I didn't enjoy it a lot of the time anyways.
