its gonna happen.
its gonna happen.
Updates?
Did you do it Eddy Lee?
(I'm not asking for the results of you other dorks. Solo Joe, Jonesey, and the rest of the gang suck eggs.)
Please, Please, Please break 4 so this thread can end and we all win.

Good times for a change
See the luck I've had
Could make a good man turn bad
So please, please, please
Let me, let me, let me
Let me get what I want
This time
Haven't had a dream in a long time
See the life I've had
Could make a good man bad
So for once in my life
Let me break 4:00 for the 1500 meters
Lord knows it would be the first time
Lord knows it would be the first time
Our man, Eddy Lee, pictured on the CSUB track website, and in this story, for that DMR performance where he ran down the leader in the last 100m and won it:

No results up yet for today's meet.
Great 4x400m workout, Eddy. It is going to happen this season, I am convinced of it.
I don't you jonesy, but I'm rooting for Eddy.
Forgot the key word: I don't like you jonesy
4:07.97 for Eddy Lee today. Hey, that's a pr, right? One step at a time.
I think he is purposely not breaking for 4:00 so he can keep this thread going.
Official results?
Link?
Eddy Lee, are you out there?!?
Huge disappointment.
I was seeded first in a field of about 12, which meant that I got the inside. I took off pretty quickly knowing the possibility of getting boxed or swallowed in. In the first 200meters I was sitting 3rd on the inside with 2-3 guys in lane 2 right beside me. Our first 400 was hecka slow:66. I heard my coach telling me to get out of there so 600meters into the race I took off. I was hoping someone would go with me...nope. I came through the 800 in 211(65) and the 1200 in 316(65)... while still being in the lead. The next guy was at least a second behind me(this is what I was told). I tried picking it up the last 300meters, but I think I may have just maintained the same pace. I got passed my Nick Thorton(good 800 time earlier in the meet:151) and someone else in the last 40-50meters to get 3rd. 4:07 high was the official time.
I should have taken off from the beginning with intended splits: 64,208,312-313,finish. Good learning experience nonetheless.
I'm racing next Sunday at USC in the open 15. I know what I have to do....take off, get in position early if I want to hit some good splits.
NO excuses next Sunday. Open 1500 race with sub 4 min guys entered- that means you just draft behind one of those 3:55-3:59 guys, hold on, realize your sub 4 goal and end this friggin thread, please!!!
Not too shabby at all. Barring an injury I think you've got a sub 4 in the bag by the end of the season. Keep running smart and rest often.
Hey Eddy, I ran a similar 4x400, 1 min rest workout when I was trying to break four minutes in the 1500 also. I think I ran 64, 64, 63, 64, and I was dying on the last one (yeah, not really ready for 4:00). A week later I ran a 4:06 in a field with guys who were under 4:00. If you dropped a 60 on your last 400 and you were relatively in control, I'd say you're in shape to go under 4:00. That was just an unfortunate race for you to be in. Take it easy this week and do it to it at USC, I'm rooting for you.
I vote all on LR chip in what it takes to send EddyLee to altitude training camp/Kenya/O2 tent/EPO/whatever to get him under 4. Whatever it costs its worth it to end this.
Of course if he never makes it he has to pay it back.
Eddy ran the 3k before the 1500. He is purposely not breaking the barrier.
How am I knocked out at all here? What, because I don't read this thread every hour? Most of you would have been dropped on my run today (and certainly if you were forty!) so why should I give a damn what you say? If you look at my times up distance, they are all worthy of being on this thread.
Eddy, this is not a bad race leading most of the way. Draft next week and you'll drop three to five seconds at least.
100 miles for the week, despite being able to go only 5 miles the first day.
key workouts:
Tuesday: 3x200 w/u-37,36,34; 8x600m (@5k pace, 200m j)-1:52,1;53,1:52,1:52,1:52,1:52,1:52,1:46.
The eighth one was going to be low 1:40s. The track was crowded. Basketball players blocking the lanes--they don't hear me, I go between them on lap 1. On lap 2, a 6'7" guy (one of the same guys) stands in the lane on purpose, we collide in the shoulder, I go through 2 laps in 54 (320m), third lap I go through again and this time he throws his gear at me (misses). I wanted to finish the 600 but that was too much so I stopped and had it out. After five minutes of arguing and bringing out the manager, I went back and did the 8th full 600m.
Sunday: 19.6M-2:12:47 (6:45/M).
Averaged 7:04 out, including the slow 1.1 w/u, and 6:28 back. last four on the lake in 6:15,6:09 (ice), 6:04 (more ice), 5:43 (24:11 4M). This was probably my only quality long run in a year, a key weakness prior to my 2:40 marathon last fall.
There were some other, quicker 14-15 milers too.
Terrible week jonesy, Here's better luck.
Good job Eddy Lee. Only 7 seconds to go. You can do this.
Jonesey please, nobody here asked you about your week.

8 seconds. Forgive me Eddy.
