Masback is talking. Time for a nap. My God, he's boring. Ready for announcing the national shuffleboard tournament though.
Insightful steeplechase commentary: "main goal is to not hit a barrier. If you hit one of these you go down."
Cuts away to another event.

Why does LRC hate Carlos Handler?
I personally think he's classless and he was loudly badgering Ajee as she prepared to run her opening round. Disgusting immature behavior!

1:57.7 solo front-running effort in 85 degrees with 12mph wind after rounds.
This puts it perfectly ^^
Honestly I think she has a shot at upsetting Wambui or Nyonshaba
She has had a very non optimal build up. I think she could run 1:55, but 1:57 solo negative split in this heat after rounds means she's ready to go for London. She will be in even better shape there. If she runs 1:56 in London which I think she can do, she gets 2nd behind Semenya.
I was wrong: 59.66 - 58.13
Yeah and people wonder why we hate on NBC every broadcast. It's inane commentary like that.
Earlier before the women's hurdles one of them mentioned how many hurdles there are and how high they are, smh. Just wow. Like watching an NFL game and having the announcer tell you that a first down takes 10 yards.
I know I'm probably late in this, but can someone fill me in on Murphy in the men's 800?
A DNS? Was he hurt?
I had him for the win and a world medal.
Who Dat?

It's been all over the front page and a bolded topic on the boards

Also because 95% of people on this board have a massive crush on Brenda, so a little resentment.

She has a chance at 3rd if one of them sits back and eats too many pizzas and beer over the next 6 weeks or so. The 3 of them train like the high-school, club- level males that they are. Ajee - no matter how hard she works - doesn't have a chance if they even have a semi-decent build up. Because they are MEN.
My hope was that Rick Allen was just a placeholder until NBC starts their NASCAR coverage (next week, I believe), not that Tom Hammond is much better. Main reason I have zero regrets spending that $70. Hutchings on the call and Tollefson is better than Masback. Although I'm sure some LRCers are of the "GRRR WHY IS A WOMAN ON THE BROADCAST?" persuasion.

Good points but keep in mind the "solo" means optimal distance covered (nothing in lane 2, navigating traffic, etc).
Regardless of all that- she looks like she is running a 1500 pace- kind of effortless.

Meh........ wrote:Was not expecting that from Muhammed. She equaled her PB of 52.64 after a rather average season. Little had a great late push to run 52.75. Carter in 3rd ran under 53 as well, and McLaughlin set a new WJR, but only got 6th
Top 3 under 53, top 6 under 54!
Muhammad (52.65) and Little (53.74) just joined the top 10 all time list!
McLaughlin (53.82) sets junior world record.
Like a 3:27.18 1500 men's race compared to % off of WR
6th place would be a 17 year old running 3:31.83
These Army guys race like they're Kenyan.
Bayer jumped for the line...came up .07 short. Really upsetting to come up fourth again.

too bad they have to race men in the London women's 800m, what a waste of a great women's team this year will be
If I were an actual woman in the World Champs 800m final, I would just walk off the track after the gun in protest rather than run the race.

She's running so well I'm thinking she could beat one of "them" right now
We can hope so. It would have to be a fast, even paced race, because the dudes have a 6th gear down the stretch while the women are stuck in 5th if it's bunched at the end. Women have no chance down the stretch against that amount of testosterone.
Did Bor cut off Bayer???
