Good coverage on nbc sports app via Apple TV. British commentary. No commercials.
That said, all 3 Americans look great. Gotta be a confidence booster for each of them.
Still think Meb will be top 5.

Smart. Has a dry hat now every few miles.
If only he could have figured out a way to do that with his shoes...
I had no clue leaving gear with your bottle was legal- clever idea tho. Part of the grey area I can get behind.
And power to Meb for having a USA front and center on his hat. One place the swoosh looks like it is not front and center even if it is nike.
My feet are blistering just watching this. Wet shoes suck.
12.3km, someone (Estifanos?) opened a 3-second lead for about 200m.
Then back to the big pack
Meucci seemed to have some problems.
1531 1st 5k. 1538 2nd 5k.

Someone asked about the weather.
Temp was 72 at the start .Looks like it might be around 76 at the finish.
The LRC is at the finish. If Rupp wins, do you think Salazar and him will put past LRC grievances aside and do a selfie celebration like Centrowitz with them?.
Here is what Centro did last night in case you missed it:

Wet cotton causes the skin to slough off.
Yea....no offense. DIving....in the middle of the Marathon coverage..sigh
Nice coverage, showing the back of the pack a lot. That's where the race is happening at the moment.

There's absolutely nothing happening in the race, so why not.

Ummm. Those commentators aren't british. I think one is definitely from Australia or something. anyone know the names of the guys on the international IOC feed?

I think ice would be a mistake at this point.
Strange if he's really changing hats, but dry hats would make sense.
Ice would be a mistake??? Huh It's a friggin marathon, mid 70's temps, humidity in the 90's and running in wet shoes does suck, esp. for over 2 hours
Kipchoge was that a move or was he getting out front out of trouble? He turned and said something with a hand signal either to Rupp or the ethiopian. Bizarre.

True. But still, with shoes getting stretched out and slopping around, it can get ugly even with proper socks. Plus skin soaking up water and wrinkling. As I say, wet shoes suck.
kiprop has incredible range
Was that legal, the one runner running on the grass? Or will he be DQed?
I guess...anything can happen during the race, but I see your point
Think Kipchoge stepped up the pace so he didn't need to be in a bunch when they were doing the turnaround and for no other reason. Back with the pack now.
5k @ 15:31
10k @ 31:08
15k @ 46:53, kipchoge #1, Rupp #5
still a big lead pack (40 or 50) but the secondary pack is dropped way back
turns before 10k and 15k tended to string it out more than it really is
