my best half marathon (1:11:48) came exactly 4 weeks before my best (3rd ever) marathon (2:28)the thing i did was immediately after cross ing the finish line i drank a cup of gatorade and did a 6 mile cool-down to get a big mileage day in. i only stopped for about 60 seconds before starting upyou can certainly recover, especially if you are as good as luke puskedra. the thing its history tells us that a good half a month before a big marathon is a bad sign....but maybe Luke could run a 59:xx HM?i hope he crushes it!

You definitely have a point.
Especially with the new attitude Luke seems to have toward training/racing. Maybe his lower volume/more laid back attitude and focusing on enjoying it makes it worthwhile to run hard today. In a sense it could be taking pressure off the trials, which could end up benefitting him.
Personally, I have run 1 half and it took a while to recover. But I'm not Luke Puskedra. This is probably not something he would have done under Alberto, but that attitude didn't work for him.
I hope he runs well at the trials
