Just keep dodging Gary. Really makes you look credible!
No one posting on this site has any credibility. If I cared what people thought about me I wouldn't be posting here. Our ideas stand or fall on their own merits without the artificial support of a dubiously credentialed source. That's why I like this forum. It all rests purely on ideas. The credentialed classes have failed us, so looking to them for answers won't get us anywhere.
I say I have enough personal experience to understand why liberals won't publicly fight the PC machine, and that's good enough for this discussion.
There are several books that deal with the recent phenomenon of internet shaming such as "So You've Been Publicly Shamed" by Jon Ronson and "Persona Non Grata: The Death of Free Speech in the Internet Age" by Tom Flanagan, which is based on his own experience of having his career and reputation ruined by an angry internet mob.
I confess to being a coward when it comes to putting my real name behind anything that could set off the P.C. police, and it is one of the reasons that I admire Trump, even if I don't always agree with him.
It's funny how words like "liberal" and "feminist" have become so corrupted over time. Like I said before, I'm fairly libertarian in most of my views and I believe that men and women should be given equal opportunities (not mandated equal results) to succeed in society. Based on past definitions, I would be considered both a liberal and a feminist but, nowadays, both of those words make me cringe. I'm not sure whether the right has destroyed these words by painting all liberals and extremists as the most left-wing extremists or whether it is the left-wing extremists themselves who have done the damage.
