Another thing is I'm pretty sure Maric basically had one foot out the door of competitive athletics and this coaching job was his next career. Unless I'm off with my timing and this sample was from prior to that, why risk getting caught in the twighlight of your career?
One foot out the door??? He was throwing pr's in his last year, BECAUSE, he was doping. He got caught, then decided to "retire" to his coaching job at UVA. Whose coach was cool with that because Maric could bring him some good international throwers. OF COURSE HE DIDNT REALLY DOPE, it was a faulty test, blah blah f'in usual doper BS. And somehow that was good enough for UVA's AD????
