I totally agree with this. I think this is an obvious point being overlooked, and Vessey should be under a lot more suspicion.

Hold on. There are a million treatments for acne. You're telling me that she has to use a banned diuretic for hers . . . so badly that she is going to apply for a medical exemption to use it?
That's preposterous.
This, I mean.
Did any other/more info come out about by she only got a slap on the wrist for this?
A pro not checking the online database of banned substances/prescriptions? Just happens to get acne medication that contains a diuretic?
Isn't her coach Rose Monday a USATF big shot ? Wouldn't you think the coach might say , any medication you ingest please run it through the banned list just to make sure its ok and if its an absolute must file the proper paper work so all are aware.
Pretty simple I think.

Isotretinoin (Accutane) is not banned. The patent on Accutane expired and its original maker stopped making it because of that and because of lawsuits. Generic versions are available in the US.
Vessey changed coaches to Johnny Gray last year after Trials.
These exemptions while perhaps "fair" are making a mockery of the testing program. VCB violation "is minor" my ass! This is exactly what the IAAF wants, weak policy that they can manipulate as needed.
I'm officially done with all the "ada's" as Logan termed it. It seems that they are either for drug cheats (albeit indirectly of course) or COMPLETELY incompetent to address doping and overt fraud.
Vessey tests positive. VCB test positive. Merritt and others do the same. The response of IAAF? Minor offenses...Absolutely ridiculous and disregard for the health of athletes and integrity of the sport.

For crying out loud. You people know nothing of the circumstances, only what USADA released. Are you so damaged and petty that you have to keep speculating and bashing? She blew it, she didn't check the list, she admitted it, she supplied all the documentation and USADA did its job. What you're doing is called "gossip". Unless you know her personally and actually have facts & you were present during the investigation you have nothing but your imaginations. Try to get over yourselves and enjoy the holidays.
So VCB should be just told to be more careful in future
A close friend of Kelly Holmes told me she would not even take paracetamol for as headache just in case. Does not prove Kelly was not doping but it does show a pro athlete is not going to be taking anything without checking
The onus is supposed to be on the athlete
As if a doper is not going to look around for medications containing the same substance and use that as an excuse
