I just wonder why some people are saying Smith is doing the right thing but Hall isn't.
I, personally, think they'll both blow up- fall back. I don't think leading early is a good idea. But, I applaud them both for running their way.
By the way, did anyone notice the London winner kneel, make the sign of the cross and pray after winning yesterday?
Is he a nut job? Why is no one making fun of him.
Show some tolerance and don't be critical, and obviously jealous of, successful people.
Go Ryan, go Kara, go Davila!!!!
Smith's strategy is risky, but at least she's got a gap. Hall is doing the work of leading, with 8 guys right behind him waiting for him to crack.

TV coverage is showing wheelchair right now, but saw a tweet that said he's at the back of lead pack after a water stop.

Nope, fading back. Could be a long day ahead for Hall.
did they just drop hall? local feed just went to commercial.
I think God’s best coaching days are behind him. Clearly Allah has surpassed him.
Hall just waved at the crowd! OMG!

Because he didn't blather on like a delusional fool on the topic in his interviews, as Hall certainly would (and does).
Kim Smith looks strong through 11 miles. Women's chase pack still 40+ sec behind.

The men are now together. Hall was slightly in front at 5k.
14:29 1st 5k Hall (14:32 pack), now together 29:07 for 10k
That is 2:02:51 pace but the first 10k in Boston is downhill
It might not be clear, but if the wind is the same as the running speed you will not really feel it and will not really disturb the air. Thus, you will not 'block' the wind for the runner ahead of you.
It will actually help to have a slight angle on the wind so that you get a little better cooling, otherwise it is like running fast on a treadmill with no fan; very important that it is 50 and not 62 now.
I'm in school getting to a computer when I can, thanks for the updates.
How's Kara and Desi looking?
How's Hall looking now that he's back in the pack?
did hall take the lead early only to establish the pace, then get into the safety of the pack after the heat was set, or is he seriously already dying?
Somebody get down there dressed as a priest and tell him to keep the lead
What are the KM splits and times? How far are the men in the race?
No record for the wheelchairs
BAA elite tracker is awfully slow. 37min into the race and no 10k times up???

Hall back out in front.

anyways, I too, believe that Hall will probably blow up, but I think what he is doing is gutsy, and it is definitely respectable.
I don't think he can win either by running off the front. I've rarely seen that tactic work at Boston. Remember Cosmas ndeti in 1996?

You're never going to get into college if you keep slacking like this!
