"Ave Maria"
I am not trying to troll here. I like this thread, but I am a little disappointed that none of the music linked has really moved me...maybe it's just me...some of the music has been horrible. Some has been pretty good. Nothing unbelievable so far though. Has anybody discovered something on this thread they consider a gem?
Didn't go through the full six pages but will throw "You Are So Beautiful" by Joe Cocker in the ring. Maybe not the best song ever, but gives me chills most every time I hear it.
Generally I prefer classical music, but I can't believe no one has mentioned The Flaming Lips "Do You Realize?"
And John Lennon "Imagine" as well.
A few of my favorites:
"I Shall Be Released" written by B. Dylan, performed by Band.
"Whispering Pines" written by R. Manuel of the Band.
"In the Real World" written by Bono, sung by Roy Orbison.
"A Closer Walk With Thee" as performed by Roy Clarke.
Famous Blue Raincoat, Leonard Cohen.
Meet on the Ledge
Cohen is awesome:

Hallelujah
"La Mamma Morta" by Maria Callas
"Down To The Moon" by Andreas Vollenweider
"So Amazing" by Luther Vandross
"The Dream" by David Sanborn
"Take It to Heart" by Michael McDonald
"In Too Deep" by Genesis
Too many to list!

In terms of beauty, I really like The Arcade Fire - "Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels)"

(Not a fan of the video, though)
As for moving, the song "Limousine" by Brand New is pretty powerful. It tells the true story of a family returning home from a wedding, when a drunk driver enters the highway on the wrong side of the road, instantly killing the driver and a seven-year-old girl. The song changes perspectives from the family in the limo, to the drunk driver, to the moment of the crash, to the final poignant ending where the mother is holding her lifeless (and decapitated) daughter's body on the side of the interstate. I love the dynamic shifts in the song, too, how it blends very quiet with heavy feedback to create the different moods of the song.
Well, your point is only logical if people are familiar with all of the songs in the thread...otherwise, it is obviously a possibility that an unfamiliar song could be found to rival some of one's own favorites in terms of beauty...that is part of the point of the thread, or if not, at least it is part of the excitement which triggers one to click on links to find beauty.
I've got you all beat, hands down:

Not only is it the most moving song from a movie, but I'd argue it's one of the most moving scenes from any movie.
I'm a big fan of Beethoven's Pastoral Symphony, particularly the last movement.

However, nothing (and I mean NOTHING) speaks to me as does the music of J.S. Bach.

I would like to add that I was not familiar with Explosions in the Sky and that I think they are relaxing to listen to.
