Getting back to the point of the post, Paula Radcliffe does seem to be a bit off kilter at times in terms of her judgement. I'm thinking of her choice in husband here. She gives me the impression of lacking in confidence and having poor boundaries, certainly her husband has been filmed shouting at her in public and she seems woefully timid in standing up to men. Not the best judge of character.
But given that she is so exceptionally meek and incapable of expressing an opinion when commenting on BBC on far less contentious matters, and in fact her commentary is self consciously restrictive, it's all the more strange that she has expressed such a detailed opinion regarding a child rapist. I'm beginning to wonder how conditioned she is to make excuses for bad behaviour in men.
Her opinion on this child rapist are the most lengthy and detailed thoughts she has ever bothered to put into print. And no Paula, he hasn't fully served his time. He is on the Sex Offenders Register in the UK and would almost certainly be banned from competing in the UK because a visa would be refused.
Having said that he served his time in jail. If you think the sentence should be much steeper lets have that discussion, but I'm generally against the concept of double jeopardy.
She is having empathy or whatever you want to call it for someone who on the surface appears to be turning their life around. Look at her initially statement.
I put the IF in caps, but do you want her to say I hope he suffers the rest of his life? I wish everyone the best of look if they are trying to do better in this world. The fact is he is out of jail and free to live in society. Either have tougher sentences or let him compete.

Child rape is an abhorrent crime that inflicts unimaginable trauma on its victims, leaving deep and lasting scars on their lives. It is an unforgivable violation of innocence and trust, fundamentally betraying the duty of care that adults owe to children. The severity of such abuse not only devastates the immediate physical and emotional well-being of the child but also has far-reaching consequences that can impact their mental health, relationships, and overall quality of life for years to come. Society must unequivocally condemn this heinous act, ensure that justice is served, and provide comprehensive support and rehabilitation for survivors to aid in their recovery and help them reclaim their lives.

excellent post.
Agreed. Fantastic post, and we have to remember oftentimes women can be the biggest enablers of male child predators.
These are despicable embarrassing comments from Paula.
