This thread exposes the LetsRun denizens - it's not really about fairness in sport, it's about a dislike of transgender individuals (which is probably an extension of identity politics).
I fully agree that biological males have no place (pre or post transition) in the protected sphere of women's sports. That has nothing to do with the athlete who won today.
With that said, I will always struggle with the pronoun "they/them" as it sound quite jarring when just referring to one individual person. Trying to get more accustomed to it.
I've always liked Nikki Hiltz because she can turn on the speed in the final stretch, flying past the other ladies who tend to lumber along. She's probably the most talented American at 1500 meters.
She could be very dangerous in a global final,if it was a slowish, tactical, sit and kick race.
Nikki ran 3:55! 3:55! & we get this mess of a thread? Use the pronouns they ask you to use. Don't let it bother you/rile you up/cause you to make tasteless jokes. It's not that hard to separate identity politics from a killer performance this this. You should be asking why you feel so strongly about identity politics than a result like this. Maybe certain people want that to drive your thinking so that you can't focus on more important things. I can't imagine not being able to see the joy in a performance like this because you're uncomfortable with how someone wants to be referred to. It doesn't affect you. Nikki winning like this gives the US another athlete who can try to compete in this event on a global scale. 1500 running is leveling up in this country. That's all we should be talking about.

The "leveling up" is what we saw with the Africans. Pretty much for the same reasons.
Goodness gracious you have your panties in a bundle. You don't even sound like your trolling like many of these other posters - you and Armstrong really are temper tantrum twins haha
You advocating a new form of phrenology over here? Take a "look at the chest and shoulders"?? For real?
I took a look like you asked and can confirm they are regular ol' chest and shoulders...
To the people accusing Nikki of being on T because of the way their body looks -- get a grip. Have you ever seen a distance runner before? There are any number of elite women who have narrow hips, have strong arms, and are extremely lean -- or any combination of those three things. Eloise Wellings has narrow hips. Eilish McColgan, Paula Radcliff... Katelyn Tuohy has strong arms and wide shoulders. If you didn't know anything about Nikki, and they had a longer hairstyle or were wearing a different uniform like a crop and racing briefs -- you would not make that accusation. Try to put your confirmation bias aside.

...
Nikki Hiltz is a female and a very talented athlete; however, SHE can't tell me how to address her. That was decided by GOD Almighty but I will respect her as a person/athlete but she will always be identified as a female when I speak of her .
It isn't really that hard, just a little google search could explain it for you. Nikki runs based on biology (sex) but identifies a different gender role.
Sex generally refers to an organism's biological sex, while gender usually refers to either social roles typically associated with the sex of a person (gender role) or personal identification of one's own gender based on their own personal sense of it (gender identity).
Yes, biologically I'm a male but I do identify as a horse.
I don't know why I (a horse) don't see Re-gendered females trying to enter male races or competitions? Everyone supports re-gendered and identifying females-who-were-males entering women races. I'm guessing re-gendered females would fare poorly in those races..
